🐔🌱 Broiler Update — 5 Weeks Old

These birds are officially 34 days old today… and the growth is no joke.

What started as tiny yellow fluff balls are now full-on eating machines. They’re putting on weight fast and spending their days rotating between eating, resting, and moving to fresh grass.

The tractor is getting moved daily, giving them clean ground and keeping things healthy. Feed consumption has definitely ramped up — these birds are all business now.

This is the stage where you really see the transformation:
• Rapid growth
• Bigger appetites
• Less chick, more chicken

We’re getting close to the finish line, but still focused on keeping them comfortable, well-fed, and on fresh pasture every day.

It’s been fun watching the progress — and a good reminder of how quickly things grow when they’re taken care of right.

Week 5 and rolling. 🐔

🐥➡️🌱 Broiler Update — Out on Pasture

Big day for the broilers — they’ve officially moved out of the brooder and onto grass.

The chicken tractor is up and running, and the birds are getting fresh pasture, sunshine, and plenty of room to spread out. This is where they really start to grow.

From here on out, it’s a daily routine of:
• Moving the tractor to fresh grass
• Keeping feed and water full
• Watching them grow (fast)

There’s something satisfying about seeing them out doing what chickens are meant to do — scratching, pecking, and soaking up the day.

This is the part of the process where everything starts coming together.

More updates to come as these birds put on weight and we keep them moving across the pasture. 🌱🐔

🐥 Broiler Update — They’re Settling In

A few days in and these chicks are doing great. They’ve figured out the feeder and waterer and spend most of their time eating, sleeping, and growing.

The brooder stays warm under the heat lamps and the pine shavings keep things dry and clean.

Fun fact: broiler chickens grow incredibly fast. In just a few weeks these little fluff balls will barely resemble the chicks we started with.

Stay tuned… this is just the beginning of the broiler journey.

🐥 The Broilers Have Arrived

Today the broiler chicks came in and moved into their brooder. Fresh pine shavings, warm heat lamps, feed, and water waiting for them.

For the next several weeks we’ll be raising these birds with daily care and attention. Good food, clean bedding, and a safe place to grow.

We believe if you’re going to eat meat, you should understand where it comes from and make sure the animals are treated well while they’re here.

So follow along with us as these little fluff balls grow into full-size broilers.

Day 1: Everyone is settling in and figuring out where the food and water are. 🐥
