Hi everyone!!
Happy Wednesday of National Vet Tech Week! Don’t forget to send your favorite Vet Clinic a card with some treats!

I am officially 2 weeks post knee surgery!

Thank you for your continued support, texts and encouragement. It means so much to me.

This has been a challenging set back, but each day I’m a little better.

Don’t worry, im STILL available for Strategy Sessions/Tech Questions via phone.

You can also still purchase a signed copy of my book, purchase my e-book of Kong recipes, or any of the digital courses. I’m revamping the links for the digital courses, but I can send you an invoice for them.

Luckily, client education can be done from home. 🎉

If you have any questions, give me a call M-F 9-4!

Thank you!!

It’s OFFICIALLY Vet Tech Week 🎉🐾

Thank your house call tech or drop off a few snacks to your clinic this week! 🥰🥰

let’s chat about how, as a Solo RVT, I can help your pets!! (Accepting new clients: Spring 2027)

This business started as a side hustle in 2016, and it’s been growing and evolving for 10 years!

It’s routine or specialized services in homes, zoom meetings, digital courses for pet owners, and a newly launched Pet Med Kit, to help pets that need help getting medication.

Not to mention the copious number of clients that continue to appreciate me, and love the convenience and professionalism a Solo RVT can bring to the table.

(It’s also one of the many reasons why I offer a course to RVTs to teach them how to offer this in their cities, too!!)

What are the benefits of a house call by an RVT?

🐶 licensed. Being a veterinary technician is a highly educated field with a rigorous training program, accreditation, licensing and continuing education when we renew.

🐱 convenient access to in-home pet care! Less stress for you, and your pets.

🐰🐹🐭 multiple species benefit from house calls. Dogs are cats may get stressed out going to the vet, but so do guinea pigs, rabbits, birds, lizards, snakes, etc! So routine care being brought to them just makes sense!

🦋 efficiency. Many people have more than 1 pet. It’s such a hassle to get 1 to the vet, vs 4 or more! Let a tech come to you!!!

💻 Telehealth & Triage. Many times you have questions. You may not have to go to a vet. You can have a telehealth strategy session, talk to a technician in real time and get a plan of action to help your pet. Whether it’s a training question, behavior, flea and tick prevention, wellness questions, kitten or puppy questions, or new pet setups, care, husbandry questions, the list goes on and on. Let me help you !!

This also supports veterinary clinics, because it takes the pressure off things a technician can help with!

I have zoomed people across the country! Whether they had a bearded dragon, dog, cat, etc, it’s an amazing experience! I even helped a veterinarian to do a mouse nail trim over zoom!

📈 routine maintenance. Once you figure out how easy in-home pet care can be, your pet will be more likely to get the nail trims, ear cleanings, gland expression, all of the things it needs regularly. Versus just one time of year at the vet.

Prescription items: Veterinary prescribed care, hospice care, fluids, meds, how-to sessions, wound care, oral meds, ear meds, applications, and more.
Your pets may be sent home with something that you don’t know how to do or feel comfortable doing. That’s when it’s time to find a technician to help you make sure that you are compliant with the care that it sent home. When you were confident that you can get the meds done properly, that’s great. But not everyone feels that way. If you can call a technician, make sure your pets actually gets the care that is prescribed, it’s just the best thing for your pets!

✈️ Pet sitting. Many of you travel. You don’t want some kid down the street watching your animals. you want someone trained in behavior. Breed behavior. How to give medication. How to catch subtle behavior changes. Trained in an emergency situation. having someone you rely on watching your family is the best way to give you peace of mind while you were gone.
Not only drop in visits for the day, but some of my clients are gone for days or weeks at a time.

What is your favorite thing about house calls!? What has been the most helpful for you?!

If you’re feeling called to share some love with your favorite tech, feel free. Many times people will ask if I’d like a coffee, or a way to show appreciation, after a house call or zoom.

Welp, this week, I’ll drop my Venmo, and if you’re feeling generous, thank you! I also have Apple Pay 💜☺️🎉

Thank you all for being amazing, I can’t wait to get through the rest of my recovery journey and get back to you and your pets!!!!

XOXO,

As a pet owner:

Have you ever gotten home from the vet or the ER unsure how to make sure your pets get their prescribed medications effectively?

You can be sent home with multiple medications, all requiring different methods of administration.

Sometimes it’s an oral medicine, ear medicine, spray, ointment, or transdermal gel. Among others.

Have you ever not given meds due to an uncooperative pet?

Have you ever gotten injured or bitten giving medication to your pet?

I’m here to tell you that it’s not your fault. You just didn’t have the right equipment, or know how to use them correctly.

I help dozens of pets every year get their prescribed medications safely and effortlessly.

But not everyone has a Vet Tech they can hire for daily administration.

Which is why I made this new kit:

✨Serena’s At-Home Pet Med Kit✨
A new product bundle you can pre-order soon!
I am packaging, assembling and shipping all of this by myself.

I designed this kit to take the overwhelm out of giving your pet’s medications, and bridge the gap between: “How do I give this” to “I can do this properly”.

When the proper tools are at your home, you have everything that I would personally need to give your pet the medication.

In helping pet owners over the last 10 years, I have found the need for 6 specific items every single time. Items that I am never without, but owners may not have them.

Every pet owner needs at least 3 of these at some point in their pet’s lives, without fail.

Them being:

💊A pill popper- to safely give oral tablets without putting your fingers at risk of injury.

✂️Pill cutter- to accurately split pills when needed.

🧤Finger cots/gloves- to protect your skin from microdosing your pet’s meds, and to keep residue off your hands. (some medications require gloves)

💉Oral dosing syringe- (to give a small amount of water (0.5-1.0cc) after a pill, example: cats)

When you buy this kit, it gets you started! It lets you give your medications RIGHT NOW, and in the product details, I give you the exact links to order more than extra supply links, but also links to my favorite pill pockets, cat wraps, and more 🎉.

As I navigate this new adventure, a broken knee repair has put a slight delay in ex*****on. But if you want details and want to stay informed, comment below!

The kits will be $35 + shipping.

Who should buy this:

1: Pet owners- to have equipment ready on hand before you need them

2: vet clinics! That way your clients can purchase them on their way out the door so they can start giving medications immediately with ease .

Who’s excited! I am! ☺️🎉☺️🎉

🚨ATTN: 🚨

Hey good morning my amazing clients!

I unfortunately need to cancel ALL appointments until further notice. 💔😭

I broke my knee this Sunday and am not allowed to work/drive. Of course it’s my driving leg, too.

Once I’m healed up I will contact everyone.

I meet with my orthopedic doctor tomorrow with a treatment plan for my recovery.

I will be in touch as soon as I can.

Thank you

🧹🧺🧼Just a quick house keeping reminder:

I love it when clients get new pets!! And I’m always excited to meet them!

However, when you decide to get a new pet, the first phone call should NOT be to me for a service.
(but please send me pictures! And tell me something about them! )

☎️Your FIRST call needs to be: Your PRIMARY VET.
If you don’t have one, I can give you my top recommendations. ⭐️

📱Your SECOND call: getting a pet insurance quote.

For the safety of everyone involved, every pet I care for must be established with a veterinarian first after acquisition. This is necessary for both legal and insurance purposes. Also getting started on monthly flea and heartworm prevention prior to a house call.

Also, give your new pet time to become established. An appointment within the first week is going to be stressful for a new animal. Let them have some decompression time. I recommend at least a few weeks to a month before I come over.

If your dog or cat is from a shelter: The shelter established veterinary care while they were the legal owner of the animal; now that they are in your care, you ABSOLUTELY will need to establish that relationship with a veterinarian as well.
It says it in the contract that you signed at the shelter, that you are in charge of Vet Care and are taking on that financial responsibility.
That’s not an unnecessary step. But a mandatory one. They may also need vaccine boosters as well.

🐾Every pet should be seen by their vet a minimum of once per year. 🐾

Once that requirement has been satisfied, let me know and I can gather the qualifying information I need. From there, we can discuss adding them to the schedule.

There’s nothing to be fearful of here—it’s simply a matter of being smart, responsible, and making sure everyone is protected before we proceed.

If you need a policy refresher, please refer back to my policies and procedures via text, that you have all agreed to, or visit the website, or pinned posts here on the page.

Thank you,
