# # 🐾 PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: City Events & Pets 🐾
Willow Springs Animal Control would like to remind all residents and visitors of our city ordinances regarding animals at public gatherings.
To ensure the safety and comfort of all attendees during festivities, please be advised that **No animals are allowed at any city-sponsored or sanctioned events.*
📜 The Fine Print:
Per *City Code Section 205.335 (Animals Prohibited At City Sponsored Or Sanctioned Public Gathering)*:
"It shall be unlawful for any person to permit any animal to be at or upon any city sponsored or sanctioned public gathering."
⚠️ Please Note:
* This rule applies to all city-sponsored events
* Violators will be ticketed* in accordance with city regulations.
* Service animals specifically trained to aid those with disabilities are exempt as per ADA guidelines.*
We love our furry friends, but for the safety of the crowds and the comfort of the animals, please leave them safely at home while you enjoy the festivities.

This sweet boy was picked up in Willow Springs Animal Control today, September 4, 2026. He is currently on a standard 5-day stray hold while we look for his family.
🐾 About Him:He appears to have had a collar on recently (indentation/wear mark visible).He is a small, short-legged boy with a white coat and distinctive brown patches on his back, ears, and face.Very friendly but missing his home!If you recognize this pup or know who he belongs to, please contact Willow Springs Animal Control immediately.📢 PLEASE SHARE this post to help us get him back home

🏷️ Check Their Tags & Microchips: Make sure your dog's ID tags are up to date and your microchip contact information is current. If your pup ever decides to go on an unscheduled adventure, this is their ticket back home! 📲🏡
🐕 Keep ’Em Leashed & Secure: Ensure fences are secure and leashes are used when out and about so everyone stays safe on their walks.

🌞🐾 Keep Your Pets Safe in the Heat! 🐶🐱

As the temperatures rise, it's essential to ensure our furry friends remain cool and comfortable. Here are some important tips to protect your pets from the excessive heat:

Hydration is Key 💧: Always provide fresh, clean water for your pets to keep them hydrated.
Cool Walks Only 🚶‍♀️: Limit outdoor walks to the early morning or late evening when it's cooler. Avoid peak heat hours!
No Cars! 🚗❌: Never leave your pets in the car, even for a few minutes. The temperature inside a car can rise rapidly, leading to heatstroke.
Shade & Comfort ☂️: Create a cool, shaded area in your yard where your pets can relax and escape the heat. Use pet-friendly cooling mats if possible.
Watch for Heatstroke Symptoms ⚠️: Be alert for signs like excessive panting, drooling, vomiting, or lethargy. If you notice any of these, move your pet to a cooler place immediately and consult a vet.

Second Update King is Safe and in a new home as of 8/12/2026


Rosco is being picked up by South Central Blood Hound and sounds like he has a new home lined up in Arkansas.

King Is still looking for a home and there are people actively looking for placement for him or transfer to a rescue facility.

Please share Rosco and King need to find homes by Friday 08/07/2026 We have had several people ask about them both but nothing final as of today.

King (Husky) would be best suited in home with room to run, He is kennel trained, and best suited with a adults! He is full of energy and loves to play and run.

Rosco is a 1 year old Red Hound with a search and rescue kind of nose! He is approx. 1 year old per the vet. He is a big sweet boy!
