K9 Drogo out there making us proud

K9 Drogo (recently donated to WPD by DynaDogs and trained by V3)

On 02/04/2026 around 6:00 PM, Willimantic Police Patrol and K9 units executed a narcotics search and seizure warrant at a local residence. K9 Drogo, a recent graduate of our Police K9 Handler Course, alerted to multiple areas inside the home, leading to the recovery of fentanyl, crack co***ne, drug proceeds, and drug manufacturing/packaging materials.

Officers also seized a 9mm firearm, a large-capacity magazine, and multiple rounds of ammunition.

Two individuals were arrested and charged with multiple offenses including illegal firearm and magazine possession, sale of narcotics, operation of a drug factory, and possession with intent to sell. One subject was held on a $250,000 bond and the second on a $100,000 bond.

The Patrol and K9 Divisions continue to proactively combat drug and weapons-related activity to keep the community safe.

It’s been a privilege to help train and prepare their newly appointed K9s, Drogo and Ranger, as they begin their journey serving and protecting the community.

We had the honor of donating our 2 first dual purpose patrol K9’s to our home town of Willimantic. Looking forward to seeing these guys on the road doing what they do best

🐾 Two New K9s Join the Willimantic Police Department! 🐾

DynaDogs is proud to announce the donation of two exceptional police K9s — Ranger and Drogo — to the Willimantic Police Department.

Ranger, a 1.5-year-old German Shepherd, was selected locally by V3 Canine Academy through Hop River Shepherds, Training of All Breeds, his breeder, who began his foundations in bitework and obedience.

Drogo, a 2-year-old Belgian Malinois, was also selected by V3 Canine Academy through a breeder in New York, where he received his foundational training in bitework and obedience.

Both dogs spent nearly two months with Jeremy Cormier, owner and head trainer at V3 Canine Academy, where they advanced their training in obedience, tracking, and narcotics detection.

Jeremy will continue to work closely with Officer Sullivan, who will serve as Ranger’s new handler, and Officer Giller, who will handle Drogo, as they progress through their K9 Academy.

This collaboration between DynaDogs, V3 Canine Academy, and local law enforcement represents our shared mission:

To produce, train, and donate healthy, clear-minded working dogs to agencies in need.

We’re honored to support the Willimantic Police Department and look forward to seeing Ranger and Drogo serve their community with courage and dedication.
