🏆 ANOTHER JUNIOR HUNTER! 🏆

We would like to congratulate our client Mary and Bebe on earning their final Junior Hunter pass and officially receiving Bebe’s AKC Junior Hunter title!

This is one of those teams that came to us already having a ton of natural potential. Bebe had the instinct, drive, and ability—we just needed to help put the pieces together.

A big part of our job wasn’t just training Bebe, but teaching Mary how to handle her dog in the field, understand what Bebe was showing her, and learn when to step in and when to simply trust the dog.

That’s what we love about this side of training. The goal isn’t for the dog to only perform for the trainer. The goal is to build a team that can go out together and be successful.

Mary put in the work, trusted the process, and handled Bebe to her title.

Congratulations Mary & Bebe, JH! 🐦🔥

Well deserved, and we’re excited to see where this team goes next!

🏆 4 FOR 4! JUNIOR HUNTER! 🏆

A huge congratulations to Elmer on going 4 for 4 in his Junior Hunter passes and earning his AKC Junior Hunter title!

This young dog continues to impress us. Throughout Elmer’s journey, we’ve seen more and more potential in him, and because of that, we’ve made the decision to co-own Elmer with his owner and continue developing him.

We’re excited to see what his future holds. The plan is to keep building on what he has naturally and continue through the hunt test world, with the possibility of stepping into field trials as he matures and develops.

This weekend also reminded us how important it is to have good people around you. Jeremy unexpectedly ended up in the hospital and wasn’t able to handle Elmer on Sunday. Our good friend Jackie stepped in and finished the job, helping Elmer secure his final 2 passes. We can’t thank her enough. Having friends you can count on when life throws you a curveball means a lot.

And we have to give Jackie credit on the breeding side as well. Training matters, exposure matters, and handling matters—but genetics give you the foundation to build on. Elmer is a great example of what good breeding, natural ability, and proper development can produce.

At only 6 months old, we’re just getting started with this kid.

Congratulations, Elmer! 4 for 4 and officially a Junior Hunter. Thank you to judges, the English Setter Club, and the Gordon Setter club for hosting this event🐦🔥

Now we get to see how far he can go.

BIG CHANGES ARE COMING TO V3. 👀

We’ve spent a lot of time looking at what we do, how we do it, and most importantly—how we can make the experience and results even better for the dogs and owners who trust us.

Soon, V3 is going to look a little different.

Our programs are changing.
Our training environment is changing.
Our pricing is changing.
And most importantly, we believe the results are going to be better than ever.

This isn’t about doing more dogs. It’s about creating an environment where we can give each dog more individualized training, more real-life exposure, and a program built around what that dog actually needs.

We’ve learned a lot over the years, and sometimes growth means being willing to change the way you’ve always done things.

We’re excited about this next chapter of V3 Canine Academy.

Full announcement coming soon. Stay tuned.

The twins, Delta & Hawk, getting some field time in and working on steadiness and honoring. 🐾🦅

These two have definitely been a bit of a challenge to bring along. Some of that falls on me and simply not having the time I wanted to dedicate to them, but a lot of it is also who they are as dogs. Both have a ton of drive, plenty of independence, and absolutely no problem making decisions for themselves in the field.

But I’ll take that problem all day long.

You can build control. You can develop steadiness. You can teach a dog to honor and handle. What’s a lot harder to manufacture is the natural desire to hunt, push forward and confidently work independently.

Now it’s about putting the brakes on without taking away the motor.

We’re tightening up their steadiness, making honoring another dog automatic, and teaching them that control doesn’t mean the hunt stops.

Still plenty of work ahead, but the pieces are starting to come together. Excited to see what these two turn into this season.

I built a lot of what I have today through a passion for working dogs, and it’s time I put that passion back where it belongs—front and center.

Running a business pulled my focus in different directions and forced me to shift gears for a while. But I never forgot what got me here. Being back in the field, working dogs and doing what I love, feels right.

The gears are shifting back, and I’m excited about the dogs people have trusted me with and what they’re capable of accomplishing this season and for seasons to come.

Elmer is wrapping up his 6-week Beginner Bird Dog Program this week by stepping into his first AKC Hunt Test. At only 6 months old, we’re hoping to start knocking out the passes toward his Junior Hunter title.

Young dog. Strong foundation. A lot of potential ahead.

We’re just getting started.

Mabel putting in work on the whoa barrel. 🐦

This is where we start taking all that natural ability and putting some control behind it.

The whoa barrel is a great tool for teaching a young pointing dog to understand steadiness, balance, patience, and composure while still keeping their focus on the bird. We’re not trying to take the drive out of her—we’re teaching her how to control herself while in drive.

Mabel has plenty of natural instinct, intensity, and desire to hunt. Now it’s about polishing the little things and helping her understand that being steady doesn’t mean the hunt stops.

Drive first. Control second. Then bring the two together.

She’s coming along nicely. 💪🐦

It’s nice being back out in the game.

Sometimes life and business force you to shift your priorities for a while. From the outside looking in, people only see the part that’s visible. They don’t see the decisions being made behind the scenes, the sacrifices, or the bigger picture you’re working toward.

Running this business has taught me a lot over the years—probably more about priorities, people, and perspective than I ever expected.

Last year, I made the decision to step away from testing and trialing dogs. Not because I lost the passion, but because my business needed my FULL attention.

I was at a point where I couldn’t justify spending weekends away at trials and hunt tests when the business that feeds my family needed me there. I barely had time to work my own dogs, never mind prepare them at the level I expect before putting them on the line.

And yes, that decision hurt my hunting dog program.

But here’s the reality nobody likes talking about: behavior modification pays significantly more than hunting dog training. That’s not because I value one more than the other—it’s simply the industry and what the market allows us to charge.

At the end of the day, passion is important, but passion doesn’t pay employees, keep the lights on, grow a facility, or put food on my family’s table.

So I made a business decision.

I took care of what needed to be taken care of.

And now, after making some major changes, we’re in a better position than we’ve ever been. We have a phenomenal team around us, people who believe in the direction we’re going, and I finally have the ability to put some real focus back into the hunting dog side of V3.

Sometimes stepping away doesn’t mean you quit.

Sometimes it means you’re handling business so you can come back stronger.

And yeah…it feels pretty damn good to be back.

The dogs are back on the ground. The goals are getting bigger. And we’ve got plenty left to prove. 🐾

Meet Kota, a 6-month-old Cane Corso who just joined us for training! 🐾

Kota is a rescue, and she’s actually the second dog her owner has trusted us with. After seeing firsthand what early training can do for a dog, her owner knew there was no reason to wait until problems started showing up.

At only 6 months old, Kota is at an important stage of development—especially for a powerful breed like the Cane Corso. Right now our focus isn’t on “fixing” bad behavior. It’s about building the foundation before those behaviors ever have the chance to become habits.

We’ll be working on engagement, confidence, neutrality, leash manners, impulse control, obedience, environmental exposure, and teaching Kota how to handle pressure appropriately.

Rescuing a dog gives them a second chance. Training gives them the tools to succeed with that chance.

Too many people wait until their dog is 1–2 years old and the problems have become established before looking for help. Kota’s owner understands the value of being proactive instead of reactive.

Start young. Build the foundation. Then build the dog. 💪🐾

Welcome to V3, Kota!
