Following National Veterinarian Day, we also want to take a moment to recognize a very special group of doctors who have helped keep us going during our search for a full-time veterinarian.

To Dr. Keitha, Dr. Riede, Dr. Doyle, Dr. Weiner, and Dr. Dewberry — thank you. 💙🐾

These incredible relief veterinarians have committed to consistent rotations with our hospital each month, often traveling over an hour to be here. They each have full-time veterinary roles and responsibilities elsewhere, yet they continue to make time to support our team, our clients, and our patients.

Because of them, we are able to continue providing care, seeing appointments, supporting sick pets, and being there for the community that depends on us. Their dedication, flexibility, and willingness to step in mean more than we can truly put into words.

Each of these doctors brings kindness, compassion, experience, and skill to our hospital. They help us maintain our culture of quality medicine, thoughtful patient care, and client support — even during a season of transition.

We are so grateful for the time, energy, and heart they share with us. We truly could not keep moving forward without them, and we are incredibly lucky to have them as part of our extended hospital family.

Yesterday was National Veterinarian Day, and we couldn’t let the moment pass without celebrating someone who means so much to our hospital, our clients, and our community: Dr. Laura Williams. 💙

Dr. Laura’s story with The Animal Hospital is a special one. Originally from Signal Mountain, Tennessee, she owned her own practice before selling it to NVA — and it was at an NVA conference where she met Dr. Winton. They fell in love, she flew home with him, and the rest is history.

Today, Dr. Laura and Dr. Winton share life on their farm with their cats, dogs, and horses. As she edges closer to retirement, Dr. Laura continues to dedicate her time and heart to veterinary medicine, working with us one day a month and also serving pets in need at the Lycoming County SPCA.

For over 20 years, Dr. Laura has been a familiar and trusted name at The Animal Hospital. Our clients know her, our team depends on her, and every pet she cares for is met with patience, kindness, and compassion. She is incredibly generous with her time — not one phone call goes unanswered, no matter the day or time.

Dr. Laura is not someone you will ever hear raise her voice. Even in the busiest, most stressful moments, she leads with calm, grace, and genuine compassion. Her passion for this profession is inspiring, and the impact she has made on our hospital is immeasurable.

Dr. Laura, thank you for the years of dedication, wisdom, kindness, and love you have poured into this hospital and our community. We are so lucky to have you as part of our story, and we appreciate you more than words can say.

Planning ahead for the 4th of July? So are we! 🇺🇸🐾

The first week of July, our doctor availability will be more limited than usual. If your pet typically needs medication support for fireworks, travel, or holiday-related stress, please call us as soon as possible to request refills or to discuss options.

Waiting until the last minute may make it difficult for our team to review, approve, and prepare medications in time. Our goal is to help your pets feel safe and comfortable while making sure every request is handled appropriately and efficiently.

This week, we pause to remember the beloved pets who have gained their angel wings. Though they may no longer be by our sides, the love, comfort, laughter, and memories they gave us remain in our hearts forever. 🌈
