🌡️ HEAT ADVISORY FOR PET OWNERS 🌡️
With temperatures expected to stay high over the next week, it’s important to take extra precautions to keep your pets safe and comfortable.
🐾 Walk dogs early in the morning or later in the evening when sidewalks are cooler.
🐾 Always provide access to fresh, cool water.
🐾 Never leave pets unattended in a vehicle — even for a few minutes.
🐾 Limit strenuous outdoor activity during peak heat hours.
🐾 Watch for signs of heat exhaustion, including excessive panting, drooling, weakness, vomiting, or collapse.
🐾 Remember: if the pavement is too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for your pet’s paws!
Some pets, including brachycephalic breeds (French Bulldogs, Pugs, Bulldogs), senior pets, puppies, kittens, and pets with underlying medical conditions, are at an even higher risk for heat-related illnesses.
If you notice signs of heat stroke, seek veterinary care immediately.
Stay safe, stay hydrated, and help your furry family members beat the heat this week! ☀️💙
