🐾🕯️ HELP US HELP WAYLON! 🕯️🐾

We have a wonderful patient who needs your help! ❤️

Waylon is a 9-year-old German Shepherd mix who needs surgery to remove a large re**al polyp. His surgery is estimated to cost $3,900–$4,700, and his family is working hard to raise funds to help cover the cost.

To help Waylon and his family, we are offering hand-poured candles as a fundraiser!

🕯️ Large Candle — $12
🕯️ Small Candle — $7

100% of the candle purchase will go toward Waylon’s surgery fund.

We know our GCVS community is full of people who love animals and want to help when they can. If you’re able to purchase a candle, share this post, or donate directly to Waylon’s fundraiser, it would mean so much to his family and to all of us caring for him.🐶❤️

Let’s help Waylon get the surgery he needs and get him back to feeling his best!

Thank you for helping us help one of our wonderful patients! 🐾

Today we're celebrating an incredible milestone—14 years with Dr. Susan Hodge! 🎉🐾

For the past 14 years, Dr. Hodge has been changing lives, one patient at a time. As our board-certified surgeon, she has dedicated her career to giving pets the highest level of surgical care while providing comfort and hope to their families.

If you've ever worked with Dr. Hodge, you know she's the go-to surgeon for knee procedures. From TPLOs and other orthopedic knee surgeries to fracture repairs, she has helped countless pets get back on their feet and back to doing what they love. But she's truly a jack of all trades in surgery. In addition to orthopedic procedures, she performs complex ear surgeries, gall bladder removals, bone biopsies, utilizes CT scans to diagnose and plan challenging cases, and helps pets live more comfortably through pain management.

Dr. Hodge is also an invaluable resource to our Emergency & Critical Care team, stepping in whenever a complex surgical case requires her expertise. Whether it's a difficult case, an unusual diagnosis, or simply needing another opinion, she's the doctor our team turns to for guidance. Her willingness to teach, collaborate, and share her knowledge makes everyone around her better.

And if you know Dr. Hodge, you know one thing is certain—she doesn't know how to slow down. Her work ethic, compassion, and commitment to every patient are unmatched. She goes above and beyond every single day to ensure each pet receives the very best care.

For 14 years, Dr. Hodge has been making an incredible impact on our patients, clients, and team. We are beyond grateful for her dedication, expertise, and heart.

💙 Please join us in congratulating Dr. Susan Hodge on 14 amazing years with Greater Cincinnati Veterinary Specialists! Thank you for your unwavering commitment to our hospital and to the pets and families who trust you every day. Here's to many more years of changing lives!

Meet Megan Pagliughi, our new practice manager!

A Florida native, Megan came all the way to Kentucky to join our team. With 12 years if veterinary experience, beginning with large animals, she brings both skill and heart to our practice.
She’s a proud pit bull mom to three pitties and one lab mix and a strong advocate against the stigma surrounding the breed. She also has a 13-year-old HUMAN daughter-they both saw snow for the very first time last week! Please keep her in your thoughts when that first big snowstorm hits and she’s driving in snow for the first time.
In just three months, Megan has already made a huge positive impact. The atmosphere is happier, calmer, and more productive thanks to her leadership.
Please give her a warm welcome-she’s truly a breath of fresh air.
