FINALLY after a year of trying and either having dead ones or parents that didn’t want to share the gene again we have more Lutinos!!!

I’ve got two amazing herd bucks that were not using much here that I feel could really help someone else out! These boys are both proven and have made nice show babies. These are some hard cuts but we need to make room.

This guy has barely been used due to the fact we use his litter mate brother as our main herd buck. In the 2-3 times he’s been used he produced a really nice broken buck

Well we survived the long journey there and back! Our second convention is in the books and we had an amazing time with friends! We had somegood placings and are proud of the little team we brought. We also found some self control and only brought home two new buns. We seen some amazing rabbits on the table and just want to say congratulations to everyone on their well deserved wins!
Of course this journey was hardest on our traveling buddy pigeon. It’s gonna take him weeks to recover 😂

We had such a fun time at the Tulsa state fair. It’s always one we enjoy going to, between catching up with friends and also having a good excuse to go shopping 🤣. We took quite a few and had some good luck with them. Hopefully a lot of these ones will get to go to convention in a month! Look forward to seeing everyone at Fayetteville and Stillwater!

Congratulations Kaylee Colins!!
We love watching kids succeed with rabbits from us or from our lines even if we are in the same show and they win against us. We sold Kaylee a little Junior doe named Party several months ago and at the Tulsa state fair her work paid off!
She was best of breed Saturday and then ended up taking 2nd reserve in show! I’d say that’s pretty good for her first ever ARBA show!
She’s a beautiful senior doe now who should give her a great start into this hobby!

I’ve been quiet on here lately but I’ll go ahead and update from our most recent show.
Zoey and me traveled to Sedalia MO for their yearly quad show and we had a great time! I don’t remember everyone’s placings as the mini Rex showed 5 times and the Rex showed 4 but here are the big ones

The best in show awards were amazing and we got two new huge chairs we’ll have to find where to stuff to take to shows!

If anyone know me you guys should know I am a terrible photographer of any of our rabbits but especially the good ones, I can make a nationals winner look like one that belongs in the stew pot but I try 😂, but anyways I finally got some time between the hay fields to dig through the barn a little. I found several CUTE juniors who will hopefully make it on the fall show string and hopefully convention in November!
So far in the mini Rex I’m liking the otters the best and it’s been a long while since we’ve had a nice otter on the table
In the Rex there’s a standout pair of littermate sisters who should do some great things this fall

We ignore all coats as it’s August in Oklahoma. Even though they are kept in AC that means nothing with all this humidity

Hope everyone is staying cool in all this heat! Can’t wait to see everyone in just a couple months!

We had a great time at the first ever Bruin Bunny Bash in Bartlesville OK last weekend! There were good numbers and many of the kids learned a lot. The facility was great and we hope to be back next year! We took a lot of young ones just pushing senior and still had a good day.

Well good news and bad news about the lutino project. I’ve now learned we have 3 carriers in the barn.

We rebred Minnesota to Greenland and just got 2 solid blacks
We bred Balloon to Greenland and she did end up having 2 dove lutinos BUT she for some reason had trouble and we lost both the babies 😓. Hopefully she’s good now and we can try again.
We’ve got a couple daughters and granddaughters of Greenland growing out so hopefully we can expand on the project!

Alright so interesting color many of you may have not seen. This is Pigeon he is a 11 week old dove lutino mini Rex. He is a 5th generation crop out of a father to daughter breeding. So 5 generations ago he cane from a Berlena’s doe. This is a color that is similar to REW but instead of taking all pigment out of the hair it only takes out the black pigment so this can come in agouti, otter, self, broken, and other varieties.
I’m working on adding more of these to my barn and working on the variety. My question is does anyone else have any of these? I know they’re quite rare in mini Rex but I’m wanting to connect with someone else who might have them!

Pigeon has had his first outing! He’s 10 weeks old now and is quite the cutie. He’s definitely different and we’ve loved learning more about where the color come from and showing him off! The lighting in this building isn’t the greatest so I’ll have to get some better pictures at home.

When finals get you stressed you bring a bun with you to college! This is A-Z’s George but more commonly known as Pooh, Georgie Pooh or Pooh baby. He’s the sweetest bun and is an amazing stress reliever. He was one of the first actual show rabbits that we bred and he come out of our original trio of show rabbits. He’s the son of Scotcha’s Plooshie and ZBAR’s Oliver. Highest he ever placed was 3/8 as a junior buck but he is in the pedigree of some of our best rabbits.
He’s the sire to A-Z’s Greenland who has produced A-Z’s Minnesota and A-Z’s Balloon. (Fun fact his sire is the one who carried the dove lutino gene).
