Batten down the hatches, folks! 🌪️ ☔
Due to severe weather conditions, we're closing up shop tomorrow, 6/18, to keep our staff, volunteers, and furry friends safe and sound. We'll reopen Friday at noon, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed! 🐾 In the meantime, don't forget to pet-proof your storm prep: bring those fur babies inside, make sure they're wearing their name tags, and give those outdoor critters a cozy spot to ride out the storm. Stay dry, stay safe, and we'll see you Friday! 😊

Darla's out of state adoption fell through, so we are sending her to Tractor Supply Co adoption event.

Meet Darla, the pup who came into rescue as a stray, who's like, 'Uh, did I get lost or did my humans just ghost me? 🤔'
This sweet girl was clearly living her best life before ending up in rescue, and we're still trying to figure out why no one's come looking for her. Darla's a young, happy-go-lucky dog who's all about the people, so she needs an active home that's ready for a partner in shenanigans!

Rolo will be at Tractor Supply on Saturday! Please take a look at this wonderful dog, we are not sure why he is still at the rescue.

Meet Rolo, the ultimate houseguest! 🏠
This charming dude was found by a good Samaritan who kept him safe until we could swoop in and help find him a forever home. And let me tell you, this guy's got skills - he got along swimmingly with both male and female dogs at his previous pad, at the shelter, he's all about the ladies (who can blame him, right? 😉). Rolo's a social butterfly (or should I say, social paw-fly?) At his previous pad he made fast friends with the pitbull next door. He loves playing in the yard - just don't leave the gate open, or he might just take a little stroll (but don't worry, he'll come back when called, because he's a gentleman like that). This charmer's also great with people of all ages, his temporary home said he's even got a soft spot for kids. When he's not being an active adventurer, Rolo's happy to chill on the couch, but he'd love a partner in crime for long walks and playtime.
He is also a great lover of water and loves to get his paws wet or a big splash and a paddle, and the cherry on top? He's a total gentleman and didn't have any accidents in the house - He is more the silent deep thinker not the barker some dogs are - talk about a dream guest! 🙌

😂Sunday shenanigans are in full swing! 🤣
Sand is plotting world domination, sneaking up on his siblings like a furry little ninja, ready to unleash a storm of silliness! 😂 He's been planning this attack, perfecting his stealth mode and gathering his troops (aka his favorite toys). The element of surprise is on his side, and his siblings are completely unaware of the impending doom that's about to strike. 😂 Will he succeed in his mission to create chaos and mayhem, or will his siblings catch on and turn the tables on him?

Bud and his squad totally splashed the competition in the pool today. Pools are basically doggy air conditioners during summer. Can you hook us up with more pools for the pup crew? Just grab one and drop it off at the rescue, we're open daily Noon - 4:00pm

As summer temperatures rise, it's essential to prioritize your pet's well-being. 🐾💦

Just as humans, dogs are susceptible to heat-related illnesses, and humidity can hinder their ability to cool down. Ensure your cat and dog's hydration by providing fresh water and frequent refills.
If housed outside, provide ample shade, and ideally, keep them indoors in air-conditioned spaces.
Avoid housing them in plastic dog houses, as they can trap heat and increase temperatures.
Refrain from strenuous exercise during extreme temperatures and opt for early morning walks instead.
Never leave your pet in a vehicle, as it can become fatal within minutes.
A general rule of thumb is: if you're hot, your cat or dog likely is too.
