💉 FREE MICROCHIP & VACCINE CLINIC 🏥 Bring your cats and dogs to the Evergreen Recreation Center on Saturday, May 10th starting at 10 AM to receive their DHPP (distemper parvo vaccine) for dogs, Bordetella vaccine for dogs, FVRCP vaccine (panleukopenia & more vaccine) for cats, rabies shots for both cats and dogs, and microchips. Kittens will need to be at least 6 weeks old, and puppies at least 2 months old. It will be a walk-up clinic, so no registration will be needed.

The clinic will be limited to the first 200 animals and will be first-come, first-serve. We strongly recommend getting there early, as supplies will be limited. All dogs must be on a leash, and all cats must be in a carrier. Please have 1 handler per pet.

We want to thank Cox for sponsoring the clinic, Petco Love for providing the vaccines, WSU Tech for helping administer the vaccines and microchips, and the City of Wichita- Government for donating the space! We're so excited and grateful for this day!

Why is it important that my dog allow me to blow dry them? Maybe your groomer has told you your dog is scared or Wiley for the dryer. These are reasons why the dryer is an important step in the process and should be mastered by your dog.
1. In order To give an even , not choppy, haircut the hair must be straight. We get the coat straight with the blow dryer.
2. During a deshed the dryer helps push any undercoat out making sure your getting the full service.
3. The drying process it the part of the groom where your groomer can see your dogs skin, therefore able to report any signs of allergies, skin abrasions and more.
4. The high velocity dryer helps loosen any matting your dog has, pushing it from the skin and giving us the ability to give a slightly longer cut in a lot of cases.

Ways we as groomers can help your dog to be more comfortable and calm for drying.
1. We utilize cotton balls and a happy hoodie. A happy hoodie goes over the dogs ears to lighten the sound and provide a comfort with compression.
2. Starting at the back end over a towel on the lower setting will help ease a dog into the process, getting them used to the sound and pressure of the dryer.

Ways you can help your dog at home.
1. Turn the vacuum on and pull out the treats. A high reward treat when the approach the vacumm will train them that the sound is not scary.
2. Baths and blowdryer at home. Simply going through the process with a person they know and trust will build their confidence.

As we look forward to meeting your pets, we’d love for you to meet our employees. Meet Kylee, the salon leader of your west side Petco! With seven years of professional grooming experience—soon to be eight in July—Kylee has been passionate about working with animals from a young age. This dedication began with extensive volunteering at animal shelters and shadowing at veterinary clinics, which ultimately led to discovering a love for grooming.
At home, Kylee cares for a diverse family of pets, including four dogs (a Labrador mix, Husky mix, Cavapoo, and Great Pyrenees mix), a cat, and a bearded dragon. Beyond grooming, Kylee works as a ranch hand at Double R Ranch, combining a passion for horses with a commitment to animal care.
