🐾 September is National Guide Dog Month! 🦮💙
This month, we’re celebrating the incredible dogs who dedicate their lives to helping people navigate the world with greater independence, confidence, and freedom.
Guide dogs are more than highly trained working animals—they are trusted partners, companions, and heroes. From navigating busy streets to helping their handlers safely get from place to place, these amazing dogs perform tasks that can be truly life-changing.
Behind every guide dog is an incredible amount of training, patience, dedication, and teamwork. And, of course, keeping these hardworking pups healthy is an important part of helping them do what they do best! 🩺🐶
💙 A few reminders when you encounter a guide dog:
• Always ask before petting or interacting with a working guide dog.
• Avoid distracting them while they are working.
• Never offer food or treats without permission.
• Remember—when you see a guide dog working, their focus is on keeping their handler safe.
Today and every day, we’re grateful for these remarkable four-legged partners and the people who train, care for, and work alongside them. 🦮✨
Thank you to all the guide dogs out there for helping make the world a little more accessible, one step (and paw) at a time! 🐾
