Today is Miya’s last day with us, and we’re still wondering who said she could leave.

Miya, thank you for everything you’ve done and for being such an incredible part of our team. We are so grateful for the time we got to work alongside you, and we know you’re going to do amazing things wherever life takes you next.

Did you know that in 2025, local veterinary clinics reported 6 to 25 cases of heartworm disease per clinic? Considering there are about 70 clinics in the Wichita area, that is 420 to 1,750 total cases!

--Heartworm disease is one of the most common – and most deadly - diseases in dogs.

--More than 1 million dogs in the U.S. are infected with heartworm disease each year, even though it can be easily prevented.

--Dogs with heartworms can be found in all 50 states.

--Heartworms are spread by mosquitoes. If you see, swat at, or have been bitten by a mosquito where you live, that means your dog is at risk. Please protect your pets from heartworms, even if they only go outside briefly to potty – it just takes one mosquito bite to infect your dog or cat.

--Year-round heartworm prevention will protect your pet from this very serious disease. Ask your veterinarian which heartworm preventative is best for your pet.

Join us in celebrating Rachel as she gets ready for an exciting new chapter!

This Thursday will be Rachel’s last day with us before she welcomes her sweet new baby, and while we will miss her so much at the clinic, we couldn’t be happier for her and her growing family.

Rachel has been such an important part of our team, bringing kindness, dedication, and compassion to every patient and client she’s cared for. Her presence will truly be missed—but we know she’s about to take on the most special role of all: mom. 💕

Please help us wish Rachel all the best as she begins this beautiful new journey. We are so excited for everything ahead for her!
