This past spring, Trail Hound lost it's one of a kind dog CEO. He led with loyalty, love, and an uncompromising commitment to naps in the sun. More than that, he was family and we miss him every day.

As we honor Cooper’s legacy, we also want to celebrate a new chapter. Rue Magoo, our husky, is officially stepping into a different role as our Chief Canine Officer. Rue's main duties will be keeping the pack spirit strong, supervising treat quality control, and reminding us to take breaks for the important stuff (sniffs, sunshine, and love).

Cooper built the culture. Rue will carry it forward.

1️⃣ Start with the Head and Ears. Begin by carefully inspecting around the ears, under the collar, and around the face.

2️⃣ Check the neck and shoulders, parting the fur to see the skin underneath.

3️⃣ Inspect between the toes, around the paw pads, and along the legs.

4️⃣ Look closely at the belly, underarms, and groin areas where ticks like to hide.

5️⃣ Run your fingers along the back, tail, and base of the tail, feeling for any bumps or attached ticks.

6️⃣ Comb through your dog’s fur, especially in thick-haired areas, to help detect any ticks.

‼️If you find a tick, use tweezers to grasp it close to the skin and pull it out steadily. Place the tick in the bowl of soapy water. Keep an eye on the areas where you removed ticks for signs of irritation or infection.

🐾 Regular checks after outdoor activities can help keep your dog tick-free and healthy. 🐾
