🎃 Halloween treats are fun for us, but they can be dangerous for our pets!

🐾 If your dog gets into Halloween candy, watch for signs of:

🍫 Chocolate toxicity
Dark chocolate and baking chocolate can be especially harmful. Symptoms may include vomiting, diarrhea, restlessness, increased thirst, rapid heart rhythms, tremors, or seizures.

⚠️ Xylitol poisoning
Found in some sugar-free candies, gum, mints, baked goods, and nut butters, xylitol can cause a dangerous drop in blood sugar. Watch for vomiting, weakness, stumbling, collapse, tremors, or seizures.

If you think your pet has eaten chocolate or something containing xylitol, don’t wait for symptoms. Contact your veterinarian or an emergency veterinary clinic right away and bring the package if possible.

Keep Halloween candy in the treat bowl, not the dog bowl! 🐶🧡
