Our 2026 Day of Play has wrapped up for the year, and we are once again filled with gratitude towards our wonderful community ❤️

Because of you, 35 very deserving dogs have found their happily ever afters 🐶

Three of our showcased friends are still patiently waiting for their forever homes! You can find their stories on our page by searching their names 💛

Thank you to those who liked, shared, and commented on our posts highlighting these pups 📸 Thank you to those who welcomed them into your hearts and homes 🥰 Thank you to the Humane Society of Wichita County for letting us pamper these pups like the royalty they are! 👑🐾

Whether you adopt one of the dogs we have had the privilege of spending a day with, or any other furry friend waiting for a family, we are grateful to everyone who provides a loving home to a pet in need ❤️

Meet Ariel! ❤️

Ariel is a 10 year old Terrier Mix looking for her furever home at the Humane Society. This senior sweetheart’s wild days are well behind her, and the only thing she’s looking for in her retirement home is a comfy spot to nap 😴 Ariel seems to do well with other small dogs, as well as cats 🐾 She’s the type of pup who would rather curl up in a cozy corner and hit snooze on her alarm clock than pester you for walks or constant attention. Ariel is a low-energy, do-nothing dog who offers quiet companionship, and a whole lot of cuteness 😍 She doesn’t care if your day doesn’t include any exciting plans. In fact, she’d prefer a nice relaxing day with absolutely nothing on the schedule. If you’re looking for a low-maintenance, no-pressure pup whose hobbies include existing, looking adorable, and sleeping in, Ariel is the dog for you! 💖

Ariel is available for adoption at the Humane Society of Wichita County ❤️

*Update: Sugar has been adopted!*

Meet Sugar! 🤍

Sugar is a 2 year old Lab mix looking for her furever home at the Humane Society. If you’re looking for a well-mannered dog to play fetch with, Sugar is your girl! This lovely lady lives for fetch (although her catching skills could use some work 😂) and will drop the ball right next to you, or immediately let it go when you grab it from her mouth. She’s so polite that she never even tried to take it from our hands before we threw it 🎾 Once she was all fetched out, she took a nice comfy nap right next to us while enjoying the lovely weather 🥰 Sugar had a fantastic day playing dress up, meeting lots of new people and pets, and being the center of attention ❤️ She seems to do well with cats and dogs alike 🐾 Sugar is the type of pup who will do just about anything for a treat, and already knows sit, stay, lay down, and shake 🐶 Did we mention she has impeccable leash manners and is great for car rides? That’s right, this sweet girl has it all! 🤩 Sugar is a wonderful dog and deserves a wonderful family. We hope to see her find her happily ever after very soon!

Sugar is available for adoption at the Humane Society of Wichita County 🤍
