💡 Did you know your dog’s kidneys do WAY more than just make urine?

From regulating blood pressure to producing red blood cells, the kidneys are low-key one of the most underrated organs in veterinary medicine.

Here’s a quick breakdown of their key functions in dogs ⬇️
🩺 Blood filtration
🧃 Urine formation
💥 Excretion of metabolic waste
🧠 Blood pressure + blood pH regulation
🦴 Bone mineral metabolism
🩸 Erythropoietin (RBC production)
💧 Water balance & electrolyte control

🚨 Real talk for every vet student & professional out there 🐾
Veterinary medicine isn’t a solo mission — it’s a team sport.
From ER chaos to routine checkups, teamwork saves lives. Literally.

🧠 Whether you're the student, the tech, the DVM, or the one running the crash cart — everyone matters.

🤝 Great medicine happens when communication flows, respect runs both ways, and egos take a back seat.

💬 Tag your favorite teammate.
📌 Save this for the next time you need a reminder.
🔁 Share it with someone starting their clinical journey.

Every time you give an intramuscular injection, there’s a chance of local inflammation — heat, swelling, discomfort.
👉 Most of the time, this is a short-lived immune response (like your arm after a flu shot) and resolves with anti-inflammatories + time.

But when the injection is done poorly or carelessly, things can get a lot worse.
⚠️ Injecting too low in the neck can damage tissue, hit the vertebral column, and lead to pain, infection… or worse.

➡️ What most people don’t know:
A study showed that Clostridium spores exist dormant in the muscle of many healthy horses.
If you inject poorly and cause muscle damage, it can trigger these spores to activate — leading to Clostridial Myonecrosis, a life-threatening condition.

💉 So yes, even a “simple” injection matters.
👉 Know your landmarks. Inject with care. Protect your patient.
