Unpopular opinion: Your dog’s bowl doesn’t need 15 different ingredients to be a good meal.

We’re all for adding variety, supporting your dog’s individual needs + making mealtime more exciting.

But somewhere along the way, adding more became synonymous with doing better.

Probiotics, supplements, goat milk, broth, toppers… they can all have a place in a dog’s routine. But the question should always be WHY you’re adding them, not just whether someone on social media recommended them.

Because more doesn’t always mean better.

We’re not here to tell you to stop adding things to your dog’s bowl. We’re here to help you understand what you’re adding and whether it makes sense for YOUR dog.

They may no longer walk beside us, but they’ll always be part of our lives. 🕯️🐾🌼

This Día de los Mu***os, we’ve created an ofrenda at Living the Dog Life Whittier to honor the pets who have loved us, changed us + left their paw prints on our hearts forever.

And we’d love for our community to help us fill it. 🤎

Bring in a photo of a beloved pet who has crossed the rainbow bridge, and we’ll add them to our ofrenda so they can be remembered alongside so many other very loved pets.

You could buy your dog’s food, treats, toys + essentials just about anywhere. So when you choose to shop at your neighborhood pet store, it means more than you probably realize. 🥹🐾

Shopping small means supporting the people who carefully choose what makes it onto the shelves, who learn about the products they carry, who know your dog by name + who are always happy to answer your 47 questions about treats, food, chews and everything in between. 😂

It means giving smaller brands a place to be discovered.

It means helping us host events, bring dog people together + create a space that feels like part pet store, part community.

And it means keeping your dollars right here in the neighborhood. 🤎

But supporting small doesn’t always mean making a purchase. Sharing our posts, recommending us to another dog parent, bringing a friend in, leaving a review or simply telling someone, “you HAVE to check out this pet store I love” makes a difference too.
