Great Lakes Rabbit Sanctuary GLRS provides a safe haven to abandoned, abused, and neglected domestic rabbits and others. Expect a response within 1-2 days.

If you are interested in adopting, please contact our adoption coordinator at [email protected]. Sanctuary work keeps us very busy, so we may not be able to respond right away. Visiting the Sanctuary: We welcome visitors and are very excited to share the wonders of the sanctuary, however, we are not open to the public on a daily basis. Tours are available by appointment only during the

spring, summer, and early fall. Please email us at least 48 hours in advance to schedule a visit and have us confirm your visit. To help us continue providing a safe haven for the animals, we request a donation of $5.00 per person for tours of the sanctuary. To get involved in volunteering email [email protected]

We have TWO volunteer work days coming up this weekend, 5/30 and 5/31 from 10 AM - 3 PM!

Tasks will include cleaning bunny litter boxes; weeding/preparing soil around buildings for in-ground plants; seed and starter plant gardening; and general landscaping/beautification 🌼

Can't make it this weekend? We will also have another volunteer workday on 6/21 to prepare the property for our June Jubilee on 6/28! Make it a Father's Day event and bring your dad if he's ready to work! 😉

Rudy found his forever home recently, and he's already settled in and making himself comfortable! 💙

Rudy came to us in September 2025 with former GLRS bun Hazel (non-bonded). Thankfully they only had to spend a few months with us, and they both found their forever (but separate) homes on the same day! He's a sweet senior bun and we're so glad he gets to live out his golden years spoiled like he should be 🥰

We want to thank the Detroit Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Kappa for volunteering this past Sunday for their annual national Day of Service! 💙

The group dusted the entire adoption barn and diligently cleaned bunny pens. They did an awesome job and the barn is ✨sparkling✨ thanks to their hard work!
