We are in the middle of building a large outdoor aviary to allow our birds the opportunity to enjoy the summer months. We are not currently breeding at this time while construction is happening and we are making changes to indoor cages, and other updates. I will post again with some updates if we get this project completed before it gets too cold.

I haven’t posted in a while, sorry about that. The birds have been taking a break and just being pets lately while I finished my Master’s degree. Due to changes post COVID, we are no longer shipping birds. USPS can’t deliver over night to most places anymore, and shipping via Delta Airlines is very cost prohibitive for most people. You are welcome to fly or drive here for pick. We will not have more babies until early spring/summer. We may have a few breeding pairs to place as we assess our numbers and goals going forward.

Warmer weather is nearly upon us! That means shipping time! We will have many Americans available that will be suitable for your Rainbow breeding program! FAQ: Do you hand feed?

Answer: No we do not. We DO hand tame. Hand feeding is not in the best interests of the bird from a long term health perspective and the fact that it doesn’t give a permanent solution to taming and handling your bird.

Birds are not domesticated the way dogs and cats have been for thousands of years. Even if you hand feed a bird, if you then stop handling the bird on a regular basis, it will revert back to "not tame" and you will have to work with it again regularly to bring that level of training back.

Budgies are extremely easy to "tame", and in my opinion people who want to rely on hand feeding are lazy and unlikely to give their bird the time required to bond with them. They want the easy way out, where the work is done for them. Hand feeding for non medical reasons, only benefits humans. Not the birds.

A few little cuties hatched. Mom is a Yellowface Mauve Opaline Spangle/Clearwing and Dad is a Cobalt Double Factor Violet Clearwing. Babies should be stunning! Can’t wait to watch them feather up!

We have some youngsters fresh out of the nest box, hanging with dad, and some juveniles headed into their first molt.
Colors are Mauve Violet Clearwing and Clearwing Spangles, along with Goldface Cobalt Violet Clearwing and Clearwing Spangles. We also have a couple Mauve Clearwing Recessive Pied, and a few Yellowface Sky and Cobalt Violet Normals split to Clearwing.

We have several young American babies freshly weaned. They are all either Goldface Cobalt Clearwings or Clearwing Spangled. They are “almost” Rainbows, very useful in breeding programs or make great pets. Additionally we have several Mauve Violet Clearwing and Clearwing Spangles. Gorgeous and exotic looking. I know, I know... I haven't posted in a little while. I have been working on my Master's degree and just plain old busy. I do have babies and pairs that will be for sale as the temps cool down some. I didn't feel good about sending birds to new homes while we were experiencing such high temps. Keep watching the page, we have some really lovely birds that will be for sale.
