Our May Volunteer of the Month is Judy! 🌟

Since joining Starbrite last year, Judy has been one of those volunteers who is always ready to jump in and help wherever she’s needed... Whether she’s sidewalking in lessons, helping at events, or lending a hand around the barn, she always shows up with a positive attitude and a smile!

Judy has been such a wonderful part of the Starbrite family, and we’re so grateful for the kindness, encouragement, and support she brings to our riders, horses, volunteers, and staff.

This summer, Judy will be moving to be closer to her new grandbaby. While we’re going to miss seeing her around the barn, we’re so excited for her and this new adventure!!

Thank you, Judy, for all you’ve done for Starbrite. We are so grateful for you! 💙

Yesterday’s Game of the Day was all about teamwork, sequencing, and having fun! 💙🐎

Our riders worked through a relay course, practicing each piece one step at a time before putting it all together at the end. One of the highlights was passing a hoop back and forth while riding, which took focus, planning, and communication!!

Of course, there were plenty of smiles along the way. From spending time with Tumbles before the lesson to cheering each other on in the arena, it was a great day at the barn.

This past week was our first week of the summer semester, and we couldn’t be happier to have our riders back at the barn! 💙🐎

Getting to see smiles like this again has been the best way to start the summer. This semester is especially exciting because it’s our first one utilizing the new arena, and it has been so much fun seeing riders and horses settle into the new space.

We’re looking forward to a summer full of growth, confidence, laughter, and lots of time in the saddle!

Last week, the winners of the trail ride raffle from the White House Area Chamber of Commerce Reverse Raffle officially cashed in on their prize!

We had two wonderful ladies come out and spend the day with us at the barn. They got to meet their horses, groom them, tack them up, and head out on a trail ride through the pastures with some of our staff and schooling volunteers.

The weather was absolutely beautiful and it ended up being such a fun morning!

We love getting to be part of community events like this and having opportunities to share what Starbrite is all about with people in our community! 💙

Meet Shelby and learn a little bit about her!

⭐️ Her favorite thing about her job: "My favorite thing about my job is seeing all the volunteers come out and interact with their favorite horses and students. I love seeing the relationships that are formed during their time with us."

⭐️ What she does at Starbrite: "I am the volunteer Coordinator. I am in charge of making sure all the lessons are staffed, and we have enough people here to run the lessons."

⭐️ How she got started at Starbrite: “I was a volunteer coordinator at my previous center in Florida and when I moved back to this area I was just trying to find someplace to volunteer and give time to."

⭐️ Most rewarding thing about her job: “The most rewarding part of my job is seeing how happy the students are when they get to come out and ride and knowing that it wouldn't be possible without the help of our wonderful volunteers." See less

Today we remember and honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. 🇺🇸

We are especially grateful for the Veterans and military families who are part of the Starbrite community, and we take time today to reflect on the sacrifices made for our freedom.

The horses are officially moved into the new Adams Barn!!

Seeing them settle into their new stalls has been such a special moment for all of us. And yes… LG officially has a stall that actually fits him perfectly with his own shorter gate and walls. 😂

This new barn is such an incredible blessing for Starbrite, our riders, and our horses, and we’re so excited to finally be in it.

As we continue getting settled into the new Adams Barn, we’re also still hosting our virtual “bridle” shower for the horses! If you’d like to help us as we transition into the new space, you can check out the link below to view our registry items or make a donation toward the barn and herd. 💙
