This is the biggest-bodied mule deer I’ve ever mounted, and it was killed in archery season last year before the rut even kicked off. I can’t imagine how big he would have been in November. 29-inch neck behind the ears, took quite a bit of alterations in the head and chest to make everything fit properly.

Tomorrow marks the start of the 2026 Montana r***e antelope season! I will be in the shop all weekend and all week so get ahold of me if you are successful. I’m taking in all shoulder mounts and European mounts, current turn around for European mounts is 2-3 weeks at the moment, and around 9 months for shoulder mounts.

It’s that time of year again, and I wish I was heading north to chase velvet caribou. But for this year I’ll be in the shop hopefully taking care of a few for some lucky hunters. If you are heading after caribou and have any questions on logistics of bringing them back, or are lucky enough to harvest one, feel free to reach out and talk about options for your trophy!
