🧡 Pure Horse Self-Carriage Intensive 🧡

Last one of this year.

🇪🇺 European In-Hand Dressage Clinic
➡️ Rarely taught in the U.S
✨September 25-27
📍Whitefish, Montana

If you’re ready to deepen your understanding of biomechanics, self-carriage, and thoughtful training that supports your horse’s long-term soundness and wellbeing, this clinic is for you. We’ll address a lot of the in-hand work combined with riding work. We will start to stabilize compensation patterns that every horse has.

I will have a several demo horses available for this clinic. Not only to show a ‘finished’ product but also to show you compensation patterns horses create and how we can address those.

Some equestrians like to challenge themselves with winning ribbons. I like to challenge myself by doing these liberty walks. It’s teaching me a lot and I love to learn from my horse what she thinks Liberty is all about. Very quickly I learned from her that the distance did not determine the level of connection.
I’m still trying to get better with that, as I still catch my heart rate going up when she runs out in front of me.
I always have to tell myself she’s not running away from me, she’s just exploring.

The Art of Horsemanship…

I’ve heard that saying before and this is what it means to me:

Despite our own hopes and aspirations, always put the horse first. Since I purchased Millie I’ve been challenged a lot with this. My dream is to ride endurance races with her, like I wanted with Kevin. But her body and feet are not ready. Being patient enough and to keep working on all the details that matter to build a horse up, is the art for me. Not knowing if we will ever get there and still enjoying the journey is something I have to be aware of every day. It is why I document so much of my work, to also remember how far we’ve already come. Especially on days I wished we were farther than we currently are.

Getting to know a new horse again, has been such an interesting journey. Mostly ups, but also some downs. Especially when the realization kicks in that it takes years to truly get to know a horse. I feel Millie and I are bonding and getting there, but I also know we have much more to discover about each other🧡

Gaited Mustang Bert. After one month of training there’s some nice postural changes happening 🧡. It’s with slow exercises that shows the horse how they CAN move, that make these changes possible. It’s not intense muscle work outs, it’s actually micro exercises done for a few minutes at a time.
