Say hello to Biscuit! 👋🏻 🐾

Biscuit is a quick learner, but proved that learning new skills can be hard work!

He has done very well during his first few sessions. There were times where he had to work through household distractions like his sister whining from her crate. However, he persevered.

Since Biscuit is getting neutered, the recent training session was about prepping his owner for proper post op activities. The goal is high enrichment with minimal movement.

We look forward to getting back into regular training sessions with Biscuit!

Say hello to one of our new canine clients, Abby! 👋🏻 🐾

Abby is very anxious and nervous with outsiders. This is not Jon’s first time at this and he knows just how to work through it. This is why Mad Dawgs trains the owners to train the dog.

Some training sessions call for different tactics. A lot of the work that’s done is from a physical distance, guiding the owner through the motions. However, Abby’s trust with Jon builds each session and she has even rolled over for belly rubs.

She will be taking a short break from training as she heals up from being spayed. We are hoping to fully integrate her with her MUCH bigger brother Roscoe soon after.

Jon has been staying busy with some new clients, but has also been working with some long timers at the shelter.

Mellow and Neo at The Humane Society of Sumner County are looking for the right owners. 🐾

Mellow is a big fluff ball who needs a big farm and an owner who knows the Great Pyrenees attitude.

Neo will succeed in a single pet home with an owner who needs a hiking companion.

Until they find their “furever” home, Mad Dawgs will continue to bring them on outings to get enrichment and socialization.

One of our most popular services at Mad Dawgs Training Company is the Dawg Day Adventure. Adventures are led by Jon, a certified dog trainer with over 6 years of experience. You can feel comfortable knowing he is also certified in first aid and CPR.

During a typical adventure walk, Jon and the dogs work on leash skills, reactivity, and socialization. This isn’t your average walk. The dogs experience real-life scenarios and learn how to handle them, all while having a great time. They get the chance to explore, sniff, climb, and even go for a swim in the summer months.

We know that some dogs need more activity and enrichment than the average pup. That’s why we are excited to share a new option: Agility Adventures. These walks would be focused on jumping, navigating hurdles, and balance.

So proud of my Mad Dawgs today! Jax has been working on his agility confidence, and slides were his downfall. He decided today was the day and not only went down the "bunny hill," he didn’t hesitate to take the advanced slide. My big baby Angel and I have been working on making the world less scary. Size doesn’t matter when fear is bigger! We tried a visit to Modern Vet, but once she caught wind, she stopped in her tracks. We did get to the front door, so I’ll take that as improvement.
