It's officially pumpkin season at the Good Zoo! 🎃🐒

Our fabulous intern Amelia got creative and made a rockstar pumpkin for our cotton-top tamarin troop to enjoy! She even added crickets, one of their favorite snacks, to encourage the tamarins to explore and investigate their festive new enrichment.

A little Halloween fun for our curious crew! 🧡

Pokey is enjoying the beautiful weather! ☀️🐢

African spurred tortoises are the largest mainland tortoise species, with males weighing up to 200 pounds! Native to the southern Sahara Desert, this species is unfortunately endangered in the wild due to habitat loss and poaching for the pet trade.

While they are commonly available as pets, African spurred tortoises require plenty of space, specific temperatures and a lifetime of specialized care. With some living up to 100 years, they’re a much bigger commitment than many people realize!
