Hi i’m Adriana! I’ve been at KEY since 2024, but began working with animals about 5 years ago! Last year I enrolled in school to be a Veterinary Technician and I am very excited to further my education.

My partner and I currently have 5 fur babies at home and are expecting our first child in February! I love to travel and spend time with my family and friends, but these days I spend a lot of my time resting on the couch with my pets lol.

When I first began at KEY, I started in the kennel, but now you can find me assisting with appointments. I really love working with animals and knew from a young age that it’s what I wanted to do. I cannot imagine ever changing what I do. I’m very grateful to be able to help the pets in need while continuously learning something new everyday. I appreciate the work family that we have and how much they’ve helped me and continue to help me further my education.

Hi, I’m Sara! I joined the KEY team in June 2025 as a Veterinary Assistant, but KEY has always felt a little like home to me. My dad is Dr. Yurko, so I was lucky enough to grow up around animals my entire life—from dogs and cats to horses—and my love for veterinary medicine started at a very young age.

I’ve been working in the veterinary field for over 10 years and have especially enjoyed my time working in emergency medicine. There’s something incredibly rewarding about helping an animal through a critical moment and being able to make a difference for both the pet and their family.

Becoming a mom to my daughter changed my life in the best possible way. I knew I wanted a schedule that allowed me to spend more time with her, which eventually brought me back to KEY. Coming home to a place that has been such a big part of my life has been incredibly special, and I’m so happy to be part of the KEY family again.

I’m currently finishing veterinary technician school and studying for the VTNE, so when I’m not at KEY, I’m often somewhere studying, reading, or working toward the next step in my veterinary career!

When I do get some free time, I love spending it with my daughter, family, and friends. I also enjoy taking photos, reading, skiing, and making memories with the people I love.

I’m incredibly grateful to be able to do what I love every day, continue learning and growing in veterinary medicine, and work alongside such an amazing team. I truly couldn’t imagine a better place to call home! 🐾

Hello I’m Savannah. I am 27 years old and live in Claysville PA. I have been working at KEY since August of 2020. I did take a little brief break and I have been back now for a full year. I assist Dr. Stone most of my days but you will also find me assisting Dr. Yurko on Wednesday evenings. I recently married my best friend of 11 years on September 26, 2026!

I grew up on my parents farm raising cattle so the animal field was something I always pictured as a career. Having the farm backround growing up is something I always am thankful. It truly helped shape me into the person I am today.

When I’m not at KEY, you will find me with my husband, Nathan and our 2 dogs, Copper and Cora. I enjoy going on walks to the park, exploring new places, and going to all the festivals that we can. I love to spend time on our family farms and spending time with my nephew Lyndon.

My favorite thing about working at KEY is being surrounded by wonderful coworkers and of course seeing everyone’s pets! I am so thankful for all the opportunities KEY has given me over the past 6 years.

⭐️Superhero #1⭐️ for National Veterinary Technician week is Jeanette!!

Jeanette probably needs no introduction but for those that do not know her she is one of the hardest working and most dedicated veterinary technicians we have known. She has been with KEY since 2011 and Karl and I have known Jeanette for almost 22yrs. The lives that she has helped save and cared for are countless.

Jeanette is a registered veterinary technician and certified pet CPR instructor. We have offered several times to cover 100% of veterinary medical school tuition (she is that good of a RVT) but she absolutely loves being a mom and could never be away from her children for 4 years, she is a great mom!

She loves everything she does, but especially anesthesia and critical care. She has tech appointments on some Fridays and it has been a huge success.

Outside of work she loves spending time with her family and her own animals, being outside on the farm and hiking. She helps as much as she can with Gage's Cub scout troop, and Dahlia is looking forward to working at KEY someday. Her husband is very supportive of her love of animals both at home and at work.

She makes KEY better by always learning and keeping Dr Yurko up to date in the most current advancements in veterinary medicine. Karl and I can both say KEY would not be the great hospital it is without her.

Please when you see Jeanette, thank her for not only caring for your precious pets but for working to make KEY the best it can be every single day, she is truly one of the greats!!🩺🐾

Another late night emergency surgery at KEY, not really a true emergency but the only time available in Dr Yurko’s crazy schedule to get it done.

Sweet little Maine C**n Suzie Six Toes (what we call her) came in today unable to use her back leg. An X-ray was taken and sure enough she had a fracture. She was admitted and Karl and our team finished his full day of surgeries: ACL repair, spays, neuters, lumps bumps etc.

Suzie was prepped for surgery and Dr Yurko got to work achieving yet another great fracture repair.

Again many praises to our entire team it was a stressful day but they pulled through to have a fantastic outcome!!

Yes, Dr Yurko cares for them all and if he cannot find a way to help he will definitely find someone that can.

We got a message late Thursday that a pooch that recently had a string foreign body obstruction surgery was in a bad way and was requesting to be transferred to KEY.
We had a packed day Friday with personal out of town appointments but we knew that if we did not get our team together the pooch may not make it. We arranged our morning and assembled our team.
Pooch was transferred to KEY by 7:45am and the team got straight to work. He was extremely painful, able to walk but not well and had a high fever.
Karl got him into surgery immediately and found severe infection and peritonitis. He debrided infected area and devitalized dead fat. Inspected the enterotomy sites, which were OK. Then lavaged with several liters of fluid. Karl closed and the team got him recovered. Within an hour of recovery he was up had gone outside to p*e was already walking better and fever had come down.
He is now on oral meds, eating regulated amounts, drinking and scheduled to go home tomorrow!!
After 35 years we still love what we do, hubby (Karl, Dr Yurko) is an unbelievable surgeon and our team is top notch the best in the biz!!
Won’t let me post video of him trotting around outside but he is doing amazing!
