Latke & Maje came to Heartland from Chicago Animal Care and Control (CACC), our city's municipal shelter and Heartland's primary intake partner.
Every year, we welcome many dogs from CACCโdogs who often arrive with medical needs, suffering from kennel stress, or simply needing extra time, training, and support before they're ready to find their forever families.
Because of supporters like you, we're able to say "yes" to these dogs.
When you register for Heartland's Walk of Lโค๏ธve , you're not just signing up for a fun day with fellow animal lovers. You're helping provide medical care, behavioral support, nutritious food, enrichment, and everything else these deserving dogs need to heal, thrive, and find loving homes.
And there's even more good news: thanks to the generosity of the Rosenthal Family Foundation, we'll be waiving adoption fees for our Chicago Dogs after the Walk through the end of August, helping even more of them start their next chapter.
