We helped this sweet kitten.♥️
Our clinic, Compassionate Care, helped this injured kitten Friday afternoon!💔
A Good Samaritan, driving across the Moundsville Bridge, saw the kitten along the side of the bridge. She stopped and scooped her up. The kitty was covered in road rash, and had suffered a traumatic injury to her tail…the tail was “degloved”, which means all the skin and tissue had been torn away from the underlying muscle and bone, leaving the tail exposed.😿 This is an EXTREMELY PAINFUL situation that also carries a high risk of INFECTION if not treated IMMEDIATELY!
The.Good Samaritan rushed to a Veterinary office, where they charged the Good Samaritan $165 for an emergency visit, $165 for an exam, and handed the bloody kitten back to her, requesting over $1200 to help the kitten.😿
The lady paid the $330 ( for nothing done‼️) but had no more money. She called us from the lobby of the vet’s office, in tears, not knowing what to do. It’s not her kitten; she can’t keep the kitten, and the poor little thing needed help‼️
Of course Pam immediately said, bring the kitten in!♥️
Thanks to Webark’s “Delma Schank Guardian Angel for Injured Stray Cats Fund”, the tail was removed, the road rash was patched up, the kitten was put on antibiotics and pain medicine, and our rescue partners at Paws and Claws have taken this sweet and deserving kitten into their care.
Contributions are needed and appreciated for this kitten’s care, along with so many others that are being saved! (They actually had ANOTHER stray kitty in there Friday that needed his tail removed, and had a tiny kitten that had a ruptured eye.) All of these kitties are helped at no charge if no funds are available and our volunteers help these kitties from our hearts. We’re there because we L♥️VE animals and want to help them. So many thanks to ALL animal lovers who care about these poor stray cats and kittens…together, we are making a difference!
