We found the perfect spot! Please share or donate to help us get it!! 🤩 I have to get approved for a loan.

Our current facility is in the process of being sold and our lease ends January of 2028. That sounds like a long time away but it's only about a year and a half and we need a new location secured before we move locations.

This center will provide:
• A rescue matching service to help adoptable dogs find their perfect home
• A safe space for hosting adoption events
• Community education to help prevent dogs from being surrendered and returned
• Fear-free, positive reinforcement dog training and behavior rehabilitation
• Low-stress boarding and enrichment daycare
• Gentle grooming

There are millions of dogs looking for homes in the US.
Many of these dogs get adopted and returned for behavioral issues because they weren't matched properly in the first place.

These dogs aren't "bad."
They’re scared, overwhelmed, or misguided.
Their owners aren't given the resources to be successful.

At The Canine’s Voice, we believe dogs deserve better.

We’re raising funds to purchase a property that will become a nonprofit Fear-Free Canine Community Center. We want to create a place dedicated to helping dogs and their families succeed through compassionate care and science-based training and education.

With your help, we can create a facility where dogs are treated with patience, respect and understanding; and where families can get the guidance they need to keep their dogs in their home or find the right fit for their lifestyle.

Every donation helps us move closer to opening a space designed entirely around dogs’ emotional wellbeing and safety.

If you believe in our mission, please consider donating or sharing our fundraiser.

Together, we can build a place where dogs finally have a voice.

❤️ Donate today to help bring The Canine’s Voice's new center to life.

Please help us by donating or sharing!

It's been 4 weeks since I launched the Support The Canine's Voice New Full Service Center fundraiser! Our building is being sold out from under us so we will need a new location and we want to stay ahead so it doesn't disrupt boarding and daycare services. Every donation helps us move closer to creating a safe, compassionate space for dogs and their families. If you believe in giving dogs a voice and supporting positive, science-based care, please consider donating or sharing this with others. Your support can make a real difference in helping us open this much-needed community center. ❤️

From day one, when I bring home a new dog, the first things I work on are no jumping, walk politely on a leash, leave it, drop it, and what's appropriate to chew on. We also start social exposure right away.

If you wait for problems to arise with these issues, your dog is going to self-reinforce for things like putting their feet on people to get attention and affection, pulling to get to where they want to go, investigating or grabbing things you don't want them to interact with, playing catch me if you can when you need to get something out of their mouth, and chewing on whatever they want to.

For social exposure, if your dog is overly friendly, anxious, reactive, or aggressive, you want to create neutral experiences. We can't say hi to everyone. We don't have to escalate to lunging, growling, snapping, snarling, or biting to communicate a need for distance. Start counter conditioning and desensitization right off the bat. Anticipate that your dog doesn't know what to do and show them.

If you have a dog already struggling with these things, start working on it now.

All of these things can be taught with positive reinforcement. Consistency is the key to success.

Your dog needs direction. You need to help them want to participate in the training.

If you need help, reach out. I offer free phone and message support for all, virtual sessions worldwide, and in home sessions for the entire Chicago Metro area.

OUR FACILITY BUILDING WILL BE SOLD SOON! WE HAVE TO ACT FAST!

This fundraiser is just getting started, and sharing helps so much in the early days. Even if you can't donate, a quick share can help it reach people who may be able to support.
