Belle decided a corneal ulcer wasn’t going to stop her from showing off for the camera.

She came in to have a corneal ulcer evaluated, which is a wound on the clear outer surface of the eye that can cause pain, redness, tearing, and squinting.

Despite the uncomfortable eye, Belle was a wonderful patient and even gave us her best cheeky smile for the camera. That tongue really completes the look!

Magnolia looks pretty comfortable for someone at the eye doctor.

She joined us for a recheck of her distichiasis and handled the visit like a pro. Distichiasis is a condition where extra eyelashes grow from the eyelid margin and can sometimes rub against the surface of the eye, causing irritation or discomfort.

Between the curls, the serious little expression, and making herself at home on the couch, Magnolia had no trouble winning everyone over. It was great having you back, Magnolia!

It’s officially September, and the practice sure feels like it!

We were greeted by this beautiful rainy and foggy view this morning as we welcome a brand-new month.

September is also Animal Pain Awareness Month, and it’s a good reminder that our pets don’t always make it obvious when something hurts, especially when it comes to their eyes. Squinting, redness, excessive tearing, rubbing at the face, or keeping an eye closed can all be signs that something isn’t right.

Here’s to a beautiful September and keeping those eyes happy and comfortable all season long!

Maple came in to see us for immature cataracts. The good news is that she is seeing well and does not need treatment at this time.

She also apparently heard that we were holding a modeling competition in our lobby and is giving Lola a run for her money! Between that smile and her confident walk toward the camera, we think she nailed it. Great job, Maple!

Time is running out to speak up for animals in New Hampshire.

This Wednesday, August 19th, NH legislators are scheduled to vote on whether to override Governor Kelly Ayotte’s vetoes of HB1766, SB475 and SB535. These bills could weaken important protections for animals and make it more difficult to respond to cases of abuse and neglect.

If you live in New Hampshire, please consider contacting your State Senator and House Representatives before Wednesday and asking them to uphold these vetoes. Every voice matters when it comes to protecting animals in our communities.
