Max is looking for his forever home.
Max is a handsome 3-year-old Border Collie mix currently with Second Chance Animal Center. He has had a rough start, but he is smart, playful, and absolutely loves to play ball.
Max is mostly blind and has been cared for by our team for his eye health. He had cataract surgery about a year ago, and during a recent recheck, he was diagnosed with progressive retinal atrophy, which means his vision will continue to worsen over time. Eventually, once he is fully blind, he may need both eyes removed to prevent the risk of glaucoma.
Even with limited vision, Max has adjusted well and does not let it stop him. He is excellent for his daily eye medications and, once he is comfortable with someone, he becomes a big, playful sweetheart.
Max would do best in a patient, understanding home with someone willing to continue helping him build confidence. A fenced-in yard would be ideal, especially since playing fetch brings him so much joy.
Please help Max find the home he deserves.
