I finally got ALL my Silver Welsummers in their breeding pen yesterday!

I have 4 More Pullets that I got from Eight Acres Farm (The original creator of S. Welis) this spring! They should be laying any day now, and I can't wait!

The OGs are beginning to Molt, so they have definitely slowed down on laying. I'm glad I captured some pictures of their eggs when I did!

These ladies really have me excited for 2027 breeding season 🥰🥰

Look at these beautiful eggs from a customer who got some sexable chicks from me this spring! ❤️

She wasn’t able to have roosters, so I made sure she went home with all girls. It’s so rewarding to see those little chicks grow up and start laying such gorgeous eggs!

I’m so thankful for customers who trust me to help them find the right birds for their flock. Seeing them happy with their chickens makes what I do all the more special. This chicken Mama LOVES her girls!

Last year at this time, I decided I want to start a Blue Maran Flock. I was a little late to hatch but I knew what I wanted 😅.......

Black Copper Farms just happened to have some Blue Marans Roos available to ship! This is where my Black Copper Maran flock originated from 4 years ago, so I didn't hesitate!

J.J. is pictured below, I paid a hefty fee to have him shipped and I started crossing him with some of my favorite Black Maran ladies this past spring for my own little project.

The first batch was 75% Roos 😅 but the next batches started giving me some beautiful pullets!

They have been laying for a month now, and I'm so glad J.J. came to Feathered Acres. He definitely carries some heavy bloom gentics!

Excited to offer them in 2027 🥰🥰

Happy Friday Friends!

The ladies are definitely starting to slow down a bit as we move everyone around and get things prepped for winter. So, I’m extra grateful for these beautiful speckled eggs I collected yesterday, and wanted to share!

Hey Friends!

I will tell YOU...waiting for those spring chicks to lay....will CONSUME you...but man are they worth the wait 😍😍😍

I hatched these ladies for myself this spring after my orders started dwindling down. A spring/summer of raising growouts can be exhausting but it pays off!

4 years into Feathered Acres, and this might be my best group of fall layers yet (still waiting for some) but I had to share these ladies as they were hot off the press this past week.

My delema now is where do I put them all?! Coops are full...days are getting shorter...not every pullet meets my standard. So I will be parting with some ladies and gents.

Stay tuned....I'm working on going through what I currently have in my flocks, and what I will be keeping as they lay. I will posting some as I decide to part with them.

Thank you everyone, for always supporting and cheering for me. Couldn't do it with you 😘🥰

HEY FRIENDS!!

It has been a HOT minute since I've shared a post to Feathered Acres! I've been busy, busy, busy....

I changed positions in my 'Real Job' 😅, Spent an amazing summer with my boys, and have been focusing on my growouts as well as my breeding program for 2027.....with that being said...let me introduce my....

SILVER WELSUMMERS...these ladies 😍😍..blew my socks off!!

I adore them, and will be offering them in 2027 (possibly this fall as well)....that being said....

I'm super excited to get back in the rhythm of sharing with you all, and these girls deserved the first spot light! There is a couple other breeds I will be adding to my 2027 agenda, so stay tuned. However...

2026 is not over yet, and I have a some AMAZING customers from this spring! As an inspiration, to get the ball rolling, PLEASE share some photos of the ladies (or gents) you got from me this spring! Even those you didn't get from me, I would love to see those beautiful egg baskets and birds!
