🐾 Prada’s Journey to Easier Breathing 🐾

Sweet Prada recently underwent Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome (BOAS) surgery at Bradford Hills Veterinary Hospital, performed by Dr. Duffy, who is pictured here with Prada during her recovery ❤️

Prada’s procedure included:

✔️ Stenotic Nare (Nostril) Resection to widen her nostrils and improve airflow
✔️ Soft Palate Resection to remove excess tissue obstructing her airway

Using our state-of-the-art LigaSure surgical system, Dr. Duffy was able to perform the soft palate resection with exceptional precision while minimizing bleeding and tissue trauma. This advanced technology helps improve surgical efficiency and can contribute to a smoother recovery for our patients.

BOAS is commonly seen in brachycephalic (flat-faced) breeds such as Boston Terriers, French Bulldogs, Pugs, and English Bulldogs. Common signs include:

🔹 Loud breathing or snoring
🔹 Exercise intolerance
🔹 Excessive panting
🔹 Difficulty breathing, especially during warm weather

After many years of dedicated care and compassion at Bradford Hills Veterinary Hospital, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Graham as he prepares to begin a new chapter.

Dr. Graham will be leaving our practice to take the next steps toward his well-deserved retirement. Throughout his time with us, he has made a lasting impact on countless pets, families, and team members through his kindness, expertise, and commitment to veterinary care.

We are incredibly grateful for everything Dr. Graham has brought to our hospital and community over the years. While we will certainly miss seeing him at Bradford Hills, we are excited for him as he moves into this next season of life.

Huxley was soaking up all the snuggles before his big day — his neuter surgery! 🐾💙

This sweet boy made sure to get plenty of cuddles, love, and reassurance from the staff before heading off for his procedure. Safe to say he completely stole everyone’s hearts while he was here!

Technician Cloe was giving sweet baby Oliver all the love and care while he recovered from pneumonia. 🐾❤️‍🩹

Pneumonia in pets is a serious condition that causes inflammation and infection within the lungs, making it difficult for them to breathe comfortably. Symptoms can include coughing, lethargy, decreased appetite, fever, and trouble breathing. Early diagnosis and treatment are so important, as pneumonia can quickly become life-threatening if left untreated.

X-rays are one of the best tools veterinarians can use to help diagnose pneumonia and monitor how the lungs are responding to treatment over time.

Safe to say, Oliver is on the mend and improving every day! We are so proud of Oliver for being such a brave little guy, and of Cloe for taking such wonderful care of him every step of the way! ✨
