On Easter morning, one of our incredible nurses lost her home—and tragically, her two beloved cats—in a house fire. In an instant, she lost everything.

She is not just a valued member of our team, but someone who shows up every day with compassion, strength, and dedication to caring for others and their pets. Now, she needs our help.

We have created a GoFundMe to support her as she begins to rebuild her life. Any contribution—big or small—will make a meaningful difference during this incredibly difficult time.

If you are unable to donate, sharing this post would mean just as much.

Thank you for supporting someone who has given so much to others

September 11th – We Remember 🕊️

Today, we pause to honor the lives lost, the heroes who selflessly served, and the strength of a nation united. Our hearts are with those who were affected by the events of 9/11, and we will never forget the bravery, resilience, and compassion shown on that day and in the days that followed.

At Safe Haven, we extend our deepest gratitude to the first responders, including the service dogs who played a crucial role in the rescue efforts. They remind us of the incredible bond we share with our animal companions, even in the darkest of times.

🕊️We remember. We honor. We stand together.🕊️

Are you noticing your cat's chin looking a little "dirty" or crusty? This might be feline acne, which could lead to skin infections if left untreated! 😾

Common culprits? Plastic bowls, poor hygiene, and stress! 🥴 Switch to stainless steel or ceramic dishes and keep them clean to help prevent it.

Did you know acupuncture can help your pet feel better naturally? 🌿 At Safe Haven Veterinary Hospital, our acupuncture service promotes healing and balance in your pet’s body. 🐾

But what exactly is acupuncture? It’s a form of traditional Chinese medicine that uses tiny needles to stimulate specific points on the body. This helps improve blood flow, reduce pain, and support overall well-being. Whether your pet suffers from chronic pain, arthritis, or even anxiety, acupuncture may provide the relief they need!

🚨 WARNING: Retractable Leashes May Pose a Hidden Danger to Your Pet! 🚨

While retractable leashes might seem convenient, they can be a severe safety hazard. These leashes can:
🔸 Cause Injury – Sudden stops can lead to neck injuries for your pet and painful rope burns for you.
🔸 Limit Control – With a long leash, you may have less control in traffic or crowded areas, putting your pet at risk.
🔸 Entangle Easily – The thin cord can wrap around your or your pet's legs, causing cuts, burns, or even more severe injuries such as amputations.
🔸 Snap Under Pressure – If your pet suddenly bolts, the thin cord can break, leaving your pet vulnerable and free to run into danger.

💡 For a safer walk, consider using a traditional, non-retractable leash. Your pet's safety is in your hands!
