The smaller they are, the faster things can become serious. 🐾❤️We had the pleasure of giving this sweet kitten a little extra attention and making sure she was on the right track. 💪🐈

Remember, with younger pets, things can change quickly. Sometimes a check-up is needed before they’re old enough for their first vaccines to make sure they’re healthy and growing like they should.

October is Spay Month at Wewoka Animal Hospital — and that means $50 OFF spays all month!

Before surgery, bloodwork gives our team a better look at what’s going on inside your pet. It can help us check things like red and white blood cells, platelets, kidney and liver values, and other factors that can affect anesthesia and surgery.

🐾Senior pets are required to have bloodwork before surgery. Older pets can have underlying changes that aren’t obvious from the outside, so knowing what’s going on beforehand helps us plan anesthesia for the individual patient.

Have a pet who needs to be spayed? October is a good time to get it scheduled!

💉 Vaccine series complete… what’s next? 🐾

For many puppies, the next big milestone is getting spayed. If your pet is 6 months or older, it may be a good time to talk with your vet about scheduling.

A few reasons spaying is worth considering:
• Prevents unwanted litters
• Eliminates heat cycles
• Prevents uterine infections like pyometra
• Reduces the risk of mammary tumors

And if you’ve been waiting for the right time… October is Spay Month at Wewoka Animal Hospital! 🩷 $50 off all Spays in October.

A healthy uterus weighs about as much as a kiwi 🥝 This one? Over 6 pounds. 🍉

The culprit? PYOMETRA — a life-threatening infection that fills the uterus with pus. And unfortunately, about 1 in 4 unspayed female dogs will develop pyometra by age 10.

One of the best ways to prevent it? Spaying. ❤️🐾

October is Spay Month at Wewoka Animal Hospital — $50 off spays all month! 405-275-6167 We can get you in!!

Ever wonder who’s behind the scenes when your pet heads into surgery?

Meet Nicole and Caleb, two of our main surgery techs here at Wewoka Animal Hospital! They’re the ones helping get everything ready, keeping a close eye on patients, and working alongside our DVMs from start to finish.

There’s a whole team behind every surgery — and these two are a big part of ours! 💚

✂️ More Grooming Days with Gail! 🐾

Gail is now grooming 4 days a week, giving our furry friends a few more options when it’s time for a bath, brush, or fresh trim! ❤️

One of the nice things about grooming at Wewoka Animal Hospital? Grooming, vaccines, and flea & tick care can all be taken care of in one stop. Your pet is already with a veterinary team that knows them, too.

So if you’ve been looking for a groomer, Wewoka might be worth the drive. 😉
