Every time you shop at our store or make a donation, you’re helping to provide food, shelter, and medical care for our rescued animals. New donations arrive daily – you never know what you’ve missed! ♥️🤍 Meet Cindy & Mindy! 🤍♥️

Sometimes, cats have a way of knowing exactly where to go when they need help. 🥹🐾

Cindy and Mindy are twin sisters, approximately 1½ years old, who were wandering the streets of Cresskill when they came across a house and scratched at the door, asking to be let inside. 🏡💕 Thankfully, the man who lived there opened his door to them and gave them a safe place to stay. Unfortunately, his dogs weren’t comfortable having them there, and the girls were extremely frightened, so he reached out to C.A.T.S. for help.

Now safe with us, Cindy and Mindy are ready for the next chapter of their story — a loving forever home together. ❤️

These beautiful black-and-white twins are incredibly bonded and take comfort in having each other by their side. 🐱🐱 Cindy can be distinguished by her gorgeous gold eyes ✨, while Mindy has beautiful green eyes 💚. They are wonderful cats who have already been through the uncertainty of life on the streets and deserve a home where they can finally feel safe, loved, and settled.

Every rescue has a beginning… and Nellie’s started in the most unexpected place. 🤍

Born around October 2025 🍂, sweet Nellie was found wandering alone in the cemetery across the street from our resale shop this past February. 🪦😢 Thankfully, a kindhearted person noticed her and brought her to Caring About The Strays, where her journey to a better life began. 🥹🐾

Today, Nellie has blossomed into a beautiful, healthy young cat who is more than ready to find a family of her very own. 🏡💕

Nellie has a gentle, loving personality and absolutely adores being petted. 🥰 She enjoys the company of other cats and would likely love having a feline friend in her forever home. 🐱💖

While we don’t yet know how she feels about dogs or children, we do know she’s ready to fill someone’s home with love, purrs, and companionship. ❤️🐾

🐾🤍 Meet Louie! 🤍🐾

Louie is a 4-year-old sweetheart with the gentlest soul. 🥹❤️ He has never hissed, scratched, or bitten — he’s simply a kind, loving boy looking for the family he deserves.

💔 Louie’s story is heartbreaking. During a recent rainstorm, a kind Samaritan found him soaking wet, brought him inside, dried him off, fed him, and gave him a safe place to rest. When he was taken to the vet, they discovered he was microchipped. Sadly, after contacting his guardians, our veterinarian was told, “We don’t want him.”

Despite everything he’s been through, Louie has nothing but love to give. 🥰 He gets along wonderfully with other cats 🐱, loves a good meal 🍽️, and has become incredibly affectionate and cuddly with his foster family. 💕

Once Louie feels comfortable with you, his sweet personality really begins to shine. ✨ He loves curling up with his humans on the couch, sleeping beside them in bed, giving adorable head bumps, and rubbing against their legs. 🛋️🛏️❤️ He’ll even let his foster mom pick him up now and happily tolerates kisses. 😽🥹

And if you really want to win him over? Churu and b***y pats are two of his favorites! 😹💕 Louie can be startled by sudden loud noises or quick movements, so he’ll appreciate a home where his family understands his gentle nature and gives him the security he needs to feel comfortable. 🐾

This year’s Tricky Tray fundraiser was a wonderful evening, and we are so grateful to everyone who helped make it such a success! 🐱💕

Thank you to everyone who attended, purchased tickets, donated prizes, and supported our fundraiser. Your generosity and enthusiasm truly mean so much to us!

A special thank you to our incredible volunteers who spent countless hours planning, organizing, and making sure everything ran smoothly. We are also extremely grateful to the businesses and individuals who donated so many amazing prizes, and to The Woman's Club of Ridgewood for providing such a beautiful venue for our event! ❤️

🐾💙 Meet Jimmy & Cosmo! 💙🐾

Two sweet brothers, one special bond, and a second chance at finding their forever home. 🥹🐱🐱❤️

🎂 Age: A little over 2½ years old

🐱🤎 Jimmy: Our adorable brown tabby with gorgeous marbled markings!

🐈‍⬛🖤 Cosmo: Our handsome black kitty with beautiful yellow-green eyes!

Jimmy and Cosmo were adopted together from our rescue, C.A.T.S., as kittens about two years ago, and we thought they had found their happily ever after. 🏡💕 Sadly, when their family went through a divorce, neither parent was able to keep them. Through no fault of their own, these two precious boys were returned to our care. 💔🐾

Despite this unexpected change in their lives, Jimmy and Cosmo remain incredibly sweet, gentle, and affectionate! 🥰❤️ Both boys have wonderfully mellow dispositions, enjoy human companionship, and have so much love to give. 🐱💕

The brothers share a beautiful bond and have been together their entire lives. They’re now hoping to find a loving family who will welcome them both and give them the stability and affection they deserve. 🏡💙

🏡💕 Their ideal forever home:

🐾 Bonded brothers: Jimmy and Cosmo must be adopted together! 🐱🐱❤️

🐱 Other cats: They get along well with other friendly cats and would do well in a multi-cat household.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Children: Their compatibility with children hasn’t been established, but they are very sweet and comfortable with adults.

🐶 Dogs: They have not been tested with dogs.

Did you know that October is Black Cat Awareness Month? 🎃🐈‍⬛✨

This special month is dedicated to celebrating beautiful black cats, raising awareness about the misconceptions surrounding them, and encouraging more people to open their hearts and homes to these wonderful companions! 🖤🏡

For centuries, black cats have been surrounded by myths and superstitions, especially around Halloween. 🕸️🎃 Unfortunately, some of these outdated beliefs still influence how people perceive them today.

But the truth is, black cats are just as loving, playful, affectionate, and deserving of wonderful homes as cats of any other color! 🥰🐾 Their beautiful dark coats, bright eyes, and unique personalities make them truly special. 🐈‍⬛✨

At C.A.T.S. (Caring About The Strays), Inc., we believe every cat deserves a chance at a happy, loving life, regardless of their color, age, or background. ❤️🐱
