Saturday 10.24 is Norwood Day 2026 and the community will come together for one of our favorite days of the year. Join us at Kennedy Field on Saturday, September 26th, starting at 1pm, for a day filled with fun, food, music, and activities for the whole family. Southern Steel will be performing live, along with a DJ, to keep the music going throughout the day. We’ll have plenty of food vendors, including a b**r garden, and the Norwood Fire Department will keep the tradition going of serving up hot dogs. All of your favorites will be back, including the petting zoo, pony rides, trackless train, rock wall, inflatables, mobile gaming van and a new section featuring outdoor games

We have FOUR beautiful hounds waiting for their forever families! 🏡💕

🌸 Peaches — Our resilient girl who has overcome SO much and still has nothing but love to give. She’s affectionate, goofy, loves other dogs, and is finally ready to be cherished the way she deserves.

🌿 Sandy — Sweet, playful, loving and absolutely adorable! This 25-lb girl loves other dogs and is ready to bring lots of happiness to her forever family.

🧡 Ann — Our affectionate 8-month-old girl who loves kisses, cuddles, lap time and playing with other dogs! She’d especially love a young canine playmate. 🐶

💙 Fred — A gentle, submissive 8-month-old boy and TOTAL cuddle bug! He’s great with dogs and people, quiet, smart, respectful, and would happily melt right into your lap. 🥹

🐾🤎 CALLING ALL BEAGLE LOVERS! 🤎🐾

Meet Dewy, a 4-year-old, 26-lb Beagle mix who is officially on the hunt for his forever family! 🏡

This handsome little guy is dog-friendly, great with kids, good on a leash AND crate trained! He’s still working on his house training, but with a little patience and consistency, he’s going to do amazing. 💕

And because we all know Beagles love to follow their noses 😂👃🐾, Dewy’s ideal home will have a fenced-in yard where he can safely sniff and explore to his heart’s content!

He came all the way from Kentucky to New Jersey for his second chance… now he just needs someone to choose him. 🥹❤️

Meet Beetle!

Beetle is a handsome, 2-year-old Staffordshire Terrier mix weighing about 60 lbs, and he is truly one of a kind. He’s neutered, house trained, and an absolute love with people.

Beetle is a big, lovable goofball who has a way of stealing everyone’s heart. He joins his foster family on walks to and from school and has become quite the local celebrity. Families, kids, and even crossing guards have fallen for him—and some people now bring him treats! He loves attention and happily shows off his “paw” and “down” skills for an audience. One person even dubbed him the “Prince of River Edge.”
When he’s calm, Beetle is a total love bug. He is extremely people-oriented, loves being close to his humans, and enjoys soaking up affection. He can also be a hilarious character.

Beetle is making progress with his leash skills. He has shown some reactivity toward other dogs while on walks, but his foster family is working hard with him, and they are seeing improvement. They are practicing “stop,” “sit,” and “look,” teaching Beetle to check in with his people for direction. He is now looking at his foster much more frequently on walks and has even started sitting and looking up for guidance without being asked.
Because Beetle is a strong, 60-lb dog, a home with older children would be best. His adopters should be prepared to continue working with him on leash skills, basic training, and appropriate behavior around other dogs. He has lived with another dog previously, but they were not bonded.

And while Beetle is very much a 60-lb bully-breed dog with a big personality, he doesn’t particularly enjoy getting wet—rain and sprinklers are definitely not his favorite things—and while he tolerates a bath, he wouldn’t exactly call it a spa day.
Beetle’s owner was no longer able to care for him, and he is now looking for the forever home where he can continue to grow, learn, and be the wonderful dog we know he can be.
