I have to give a huge shout out to my most wonderful Athena... She is the BEST puppy teacher I've ever seen! This dog, who happened upon us in the greatest twist of fate has turned out to be my secret weapon in my training. She will befriend almost any dog and if they need to learn manners, she will kindly show them exactly what to do. **It's also really sweet bc she learned from Kane to lay down while playing (he was paralyzed from the waist down from DM at the end), and she still does that to this day. She's AMAZING with my kids, and SOMEHOW, she snuck into the heart of my husband. I'm so so grateful for this miracle rescue. She still has a lot of work to do, but MAN is she an awesome helper! Here's to the trustworthy helper dogs who help us trainers break through the behavioral problems of our clients.

Cannoli the rescue has a history with reactivity with bites. He has landed on a complete dream family of the world- the kind who save the lives of rescues with patience and kindness. He has tried to bite me previously, but is now super comfortable in a muzzle. As you see here, he doesn't much need that except with new people. Reactivity training takes time. We're dealing with such intense fear that fight or flight kicks in and they're trying to survive. Look at what a nice payoff they're seeing so far!

The wonderful Lana Blue went home today after 3 weeks puppy board and train. She did extremely well and is going to be a soul dog of the world, I can tell! I'm so grateful to be able to help turn stressful situations into peace! Thanks again for trusting me!

I have some clients finishing up which means spots are opening. I have availability Tuesdays and Thursdays for in-home training. Tuesdays, I have 1:30 and 3pm. Thursdays I have a 1pm. When teaching your cats and dogs to cohabitate together, creating happy associations and making it enjoyable works far easier than punishment. Yes, you can punish a dog for barking and lunging, but while you're diminishing that behavior, you're also creating an association of fear or pain in your dog. Teaching them to love being around each other treats the cause of barking and lunging, not just the symptoms.

Lana likes to play chase her cats at home, so we've been working a lot of exposure and impulse control around the cats. Look how well she's doing today. The wonderful Merlin was a great helper.

Only a few sessions into loose leash walking and Lana Blue is giving very nice eye contact! What a girl!

Athena, a large dog, keeps trying to get into the little bed for my board and train, Lana Blue. In a medium-sized crate that she has to crouch to get into. The joys of having a dog who loves her crate. 🤦😆
