Employee Shoutout: Rachel Johnson! 👏

Meet Rachel!

Rachel joined the CCG team after graduating from Kansas State University in 2026 with a degree in Animal Science & Industry. She loves the hands-on nature of her work and the opportunity to learn something new every day.

One of Rachel’s favorite parts of the job is traveling to client operations and getting to see the many different management styles and production systems across the industry. We love that curiosity and enthusiasm!

When she’s not at CCG, Rachel is a family girl through and through. She enjoys spending time with her sisters, helping on her family’s cow-calf operation and getting outdoors for a little fishing.

And her big life update - she is recently married! Rachel and her husband, Blaine, tied the knot in September 💍 Congratulations you two!

We’re so glad Rachel is part of the CCG team and can’t wait to see where this next chapter takes her!

It’s a conventional embryo collection week in Kansas so it seems fitting to share more about what we do!

Conventional embryo collection uses superovulation to stimulate a donor cow to produce multiple eggs (oocytes) in one cycle. After those donors are bred, our veterinarians collect the embryos from the donor’s uterus – embryos that can then be transferred fresh or frozen for future transfers.

Why do producers choose conventional collection?
• A proven, established reproductive technology
• An opportunity to produce multiple embryos from a donor in one collection
• Typically consistent embryo production and strong conception potential
• A great option when volume is a priority across a larger donor population

Our team works with each donor individually – from scheduling, to stimulation protocols and collection – to help make the most of every opportunity.

In-clinic conventional collections are scheduled every 3 weeks. Producers can bring us their donors to set-up at the clinic, or we can work with you to set them up on farm to haul into the clinic for collection.

Conventional donors must be scheduled at least 30 days in advance. Contact the office if you have donors you want to schedule or to talk through options.

We’ve got another birthday in the house! 🎉

Help us give some birthday love to Dr. Kendra Rock! 🥳

Originally from Versailles, Kentucky, Kendra earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Kansas State University alongside her husband, Dr. Clay Breiner. After several years in private practice specializing in equine lameness and reproduction, Kendra returned to academia to complete a residency in reproduction at Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine.

In 2012, she became board-certified as a Theriogenologist—a veterinary specialist in animal reproduction—and has been putting that expertise to work ever since.

Kendra joined CCG in 2015 to help develop our IVF program, and she continues to practice advanced reproductive technologies in equine and small ruminant species in addition to her work with CCG. Needless to say, she brings a pretty impressive depth of knowledge to the team!

When she’s not working, Kendra is busy being a boy mom to two very active sons, navigating life as a professional minivan race car driver 🚐💨, spending time on the family farm and breeding and showing reining horses.

We’re incredibly grateful for all the knowledge, experience and expertise Kendra brings to CCG—and we hope she gets a little time to celebrate herself today!

Employee Shoutout: Mitchell Stedry! 👏

If you've brought donors to the Kansas clinic anytime this summer, you may have met Mitchell - he is one of our new Donor Managers at the Kansas Clinic!

Mitchell joined the CCG team this spring after working as a ranch hand at an Angus seedstock operation. A 2025 K-State Animal Science graduate, Mitchell brings a strong work ethic, determination and a genuine passion for cattle care to the team.

When he’s not working with cattle, you’ll probably find Mitchell training for his next endurance race (fun fact - he just competed in a half Iron Man this past weekend!), cooking up something good or debating the merits of a perfectly cooked ribeye. 🥩

We’re glad to have Mitchell on the CCG team!

It’s that time again — weekly OPUs at the Kansas clinic! 🥳

Starting next week, we’ll be aspirating donors every Tuesday at our Kansas location just north of Manhattan.

We collect the oocytes and ship them to the lab for fertilization, then our team handles the embryo freezing or transfers right here at the clinic. All in one week!
