I would like to post information on proper nail care. This is from the AKC website and another vet care site but the same information can be found on dozens of websites.

If nails are touching the ground, they are putting pressure on the toes and ligaments, weakens the pasterns and causes arthritis. Toes can become permanently twisted, nails can snag on things causing an enormous amount of pain. Nails should be done weekly to keep them short. This also keeps the quick short which helps in slowing their growth.

If you do nails weekly with a Dremel, it's not a big deal for your dog and you can do it yourself very easily. And a Dremel rarely causes a bleed like hitting the quick with a nail trimmer does. Waiting a few weeks to do nails makes it more difficult and a less comfortable experience, so dogs will often struggle more. I start mine as puppies and all of them lay on their backs for nail trims. Very rarely do they do much squirming. Make it about attention, give them a treat and a tummy rub during the trim.

Imagine if your own toenails grew to 1/3 or even 1/4 of the length of your foot and you walked around on hard surfaces with them coming into constant contact with the ground first, pushing your foot back, causing you to walk on your heels. What would that do to you over time? Look at the photo below of the before and after. Look how the nails push the toes into awkward positions.

And how would it feel to snag one? I see a lot of photos of people's pets with extremely long nails. It's tough to get your dog into a groomer sometimes and sometimes it's easy to miss appointments. But this is something you can do yourself with a little practice. It's part of dog maintenance as an owner. It's our responsibility to keep their feet comfortable by keeping their nails short.

Good evening everyone...wanted to give you a quick update.
Someone has put an offer on the property in Wendell...and I have to admit...I was devastated....for 30 seconds. If it is to be...It will work out. If not, something better awaits.

We are able to put an offer in but we would have a contingency....a big one. We have to get our Special Use Permit (SUP) approved by Wake county....and that is going to take a few weeks. I dont know what offer was given but we gave the sellers a verbal offer (our best that we can swing right now) with the stipulation that we have to have our SUP approved. Its their decision and they have to do whats best for their family.

So, for now...it is simply out of my hands. Thats hard for me...but, im trusting in the universe right now.

I was told today (by my contact in zoning) that Im unique...in the sense that I am doing this by the book, no hiding, full transparency. I guess they dont see that much. All I can say is, that if i have 20 or so precious dogs in MY care, you better be sure I am going to be fully permitted and open and honest. We may not get this house...but, we will get the one we are supposed to have.
Peace everyone,
Mommma

Merry Christmas everyone!!!😘💜💚
