What a day the Hare Hotel crew had at the Blue Ridge show yesterday! 🐰 The whole crew couldn’t make it, but three of the girls made the trip with Gran and Sarah and had a great day!

It has been a goal of Ava’s to take BOB in Open with one of her Broken New Zealands (and beat those Whites! 😉), and yesterday she did just that! But she didn’t stop there. She went on to win BIS in Open Show B with her homegrown girl, Hare Hotel’s Aurora! ❤️🏆

Ava has been excited about this doe since she first came out of the nest box, so what an incredibly exciting day for this kid! We are so proud of all the hard work she has put into her program. Ava has also developed a real interest in rabbit judging, and she was so grateful to ARBA judge Amy Zittel for taking the time to teach her yesterday and give her hands-on opportunities to learn with the animals. It was such a kind gesture and an incredible learning experience for Ava!

We are so proud of her hard work, diligence, and willingness to make the tough decisions needed to keep moving her program forward. Her interest in Broken Black New Zealands hasn’t wavered since day one, and it has been so much fun watching her work toward her goals and see it all come together!

One of the best parts of these shows is the friendships, camaraderie, and support from other rabbit breeders. Thank you to everyone who has been so kind, made this hobby so much fun, and encouraged these Hare Hotel kiddos along the way. It means a lot to them, and to us! ❤️

Emerson showed her copper Mini Satin doe, Maple, along with her sister’s Dwarf Hotots (Gwen had some big school projects due and unfortunately couldn’t make it). Madeleine and Gran also had some nice placements with their Rex! I believe Hare Hotel’s Mikey took BOV Black, along with some nice placements in Castor and Opal. ❤️

With such a busy show, the specialty shows going on, we didn’t manage to get pictures of the Rex or Mini Satins, but a fun day was had by all!

And a huge thank-you to Karen, Cindy, and the Blue Ridge Club for putting on such a wonderful show! It’s one of our very favorites, and you all do such a great job running it. We appreciate all the time and work that goes into making these shows happen! ❤️🐰

Hare Hotel’s Orbit, New Zealand, Broken Black, Jr. Buck, 3 months old.

Orbit is just a baby, but he’s showing a lot of promise already. Rock-hard flesh condition and a great topline on this little guy. We just can’t keep them all, and at 3 months old, they’re ready for a cage of their own 😅

So, his bags are packed and he’s ready to find his new home!

Hare Hotel’s Vega, New Zealand, Broken Black, Int. Doe, just shy of 11 lbs at 6 months old.

This girl is something special, and honestly, a hard one to part with. Ava has quite a few grow-outs in the barn right now and needs to make some room, so she decided to move Vega on.

Vega comes out of some of our nicest stock. Both of her parents, Hare Hotel’s Comet and Hare Hotel’s Twilight, have BIS legs. Comet won BOV at the 2025 ARBA Convention and currently has 9 legs.

We think Vega is going to be a big, valuable doe for someone’s program, and we’re really proud of this one. ❤️

Hare Hotel’s Davis, Rex, Black, Jr. Buck is ready to hop! We don’t have many Black Rex born here at Hare Hotel, but we really like this guy and think he’s going to grow into something special. Burkert & Broadfoot bloodlines.

Our need for cage space is your gain 😂 He’ll be ready for the show tables this fall!
