This is a semi-aquatic species native to southern China, Taiwan, and Japan's Ryukyu Islands. It’s amazing how turtles come in so many shapes, colors, and sizes. Do you have a favorite turtle species?

Did you know that there are more than 40 recognized species of iguanas divided across nine genera within the subfamily Iguaninae?
At least 20 of these species are listed as either threatened or endangered.

Happy Labor Day! We are open to the public 2pm - 7pm today.
Mike and I went up to my family’s cottage in Baldwin to celebrate my birthday yesterday. It’s an essential to look for turtles when we’re on the lake. Check out all these Northern Map Turtles! It makes me so happy to see so many people making and putting out little floating docks for turtles.

Happy Sunday! We’re open 10am - 4pm.
Did you know that Michigan has a native lizard? Meet the Blue Tailed Skink! These guys can grow up to 5-8 inches long. As adults the blue tail fades to grey, blown, sometimes olive color. Like most skink species they have the ability to drop their tails as a defense mechanism and regrow them back.
