We are a 501(c)3 Non-Profit all breed Michigan dog rescue dedicated to saving dogs and puppies in Michigan and Ohio that is foster based in the Metro Detroit area. We are dedicated to saving dogs and puppies in Michigan and Ohio. We will occasionally take in cats, kittens, pet birds, and bunnies on an as needed basis.

Poor Trillium is so sad that no one is interested in giving her a new home🐕😢 Several people have made inquiries, but no one is submitting the required and requested application. The ones that have applied are not responding. She is a fabulous 3 month old mixed shepherd/husky (?). She weighs about 20 pounds, but has some growing to do. She loves dogs and gets along with cats.

Welcome to our newest Poet pup, Ash! She is an adorable ~3 month old, 15 pound pup. She is very playful, likes dogs, and cats and has never met a stranger. Ash is guesstimated to be some sort of terrier (wiry hair), and perhaps a pyrenees. She will be spayed and vaccinated tomorrow. If you are interested in meeting her, you MUST submit an application at poetanimalrescue.org.

Welcome to Poet’s newest litter, the innies!! They are shepherd/lab mixes, about 9 weeks old, lived outside (before we got them), and are chunky! Say hi to Winnie, Minnie, and Vinnie! Yesterday sweet Hazel saw our most favorite groomer Bethany at The Masters Paw 😍

Bethany is amazing to give her time to our fosters & is so knowledgeable on grooming & proper handling. Her grooming facility is also private - 1:1 grooming - with no other animals.

Hazel would like to wish everyone a happy new year & would love a fur-ever family for 2026!
