BE SAFE! The weather is getting hot, so keep your pets cool and comfortable when outside by providing constant access to fresh, cool water and shaded or air-conditioned spaces. Limit walking and other outdoor activity to the early morning or late evening to avoid peak heat and hot pavement, and NEVER leave pets unattended in a parked car.
If your pet is showing signs of extreme heat stress (heavy panting, bright red gums, excessive drooling, or collapse), move them into the shade or A/C immediately. Wet their body with cool (not ice-cold) water, and contact your veterinarian or an emergency hospital.
