Week 1 of the ACS 300-mile challenge is in the books — about 68.5 miles down, 231.5 to go. 🚴

Some days felt strong, some days were a grind (Thursday humbled me at 6.2 miles), but I showed up six out of seven days and I'm proud of that.

Here's the truth about why I took this on: every mile is for someone. My mother. My wife's mother. Family and friends who've faced this disease. My employees loved ones. My clients and their loved ones. Honestly, everyone out there fighting cancer right now.

When I'm out on the road, that's where my mind goes — to their stories, their strength, their memories. It's quiet time that means something. And if I can turn these miles into dollars that move us even a little closer to a cure, that's a good use of my legs.

Training Update — 3 Rides In
37.53 miles down, 262.47 to go. 🚴
I've had this bike for 5 years and barely touched it — until I decided to take on this challenge for something bigger than me. I wasn't sure I could pull off 300 miles in a month with zero training under my belt. But I'm doing this for my friends, family, employees, and clients — everyone cancer has touched in my life.

I'm taking on a 300-mile cycling challenge for the American Cancer Society — and I'd love your support.

I'm doing this for everyone I've known who has faced cancer, for those facing it right now, and for the people who will be diagnosed in the future. Cancer touches almost everyone eventually, and I wanted to do my small part to push back against it.

300 miles is a real challenge for me. But if I can do my part, and everyone else taking on this challenge does theirs, together we add up to something much bigger — funding research, support programs, and a future where fewer people have to hear the words "you have cancer."
