A Message to Our Valued Clients
A Little Understanding Goes a Long Way ❤️
Veterinary medicine is a profession built on compassion. We love your pets, we care deeply about their health, and we understand how frightening it can be when your pet is sick or suddenly needs help. Our team comes to work every day wanting to help as many pets and families as possible.
BUT WE ARE NOT AN EMERGENCY HOSPITAL!
Think of us much like your primary care physician. We provide wellness care, preventative medicine, diagnostics, treatment, chronic disease management, and care for illnesses and injuries that can safely be managed in a primary-care setting.
Just as your primary care doctor cannot safely treat every emergency that walks through the door, we cannot accommodate every emergency or same-day illness. Some situations require the equipment, staffing, monitoring, and around-the-clock care available at a dedicated emergency facility.
WE ARE DOING OUR BEST!
We know it can be frustrating when we cannot see your pet immediately, especially when you are worried. Please know that saying “we cannot see you today” does not mean we do not care.
We have a finite number of appointments, a finite number of staff members, and only so many hours in a day. When our schedule is full, adding more and more patients can mean that the pets already in our care don't receive the time and attention they deserve.
We would rather be honest about what we can safely accommodate than promise care we cannot responsibly provide.
Our veterinary team also has families waiting for them at home. ❤️
Our doctors, technicians, assistants, and staff members are human beings who work incredibly hard to care for your pets — and they deserve the opportunity to eventually go home, rest, spend time with their own families, and recharge.
Please Help Us Help You
When your pet is experiencing an emergency, please understand that an emergency hospital may be the safest and most appropriate place for them. If we believe your pet needs a level of care beyond what we can provide, we may recommend that you seek emergency treatment.
This isn't us turning you away.
This is us advocating for your pet's safety.
We ask for your patience, kindness, and understanding when our team has to say no, offer another appointment, or direct you to an emergency facility.
We promise that when your pet is in our care, we will do our very best with the time, resources, and expertise we have available.
Please remember:
We care.
We are trying.
We are human.
And we need to go home, too.
Thank you for trusting us with the pets who mean so much to you. And thank you for helping us create a veterinary environment where our team can continue doing what they love for many years to come.
We are sorry if you feel that our hospital isn't doing its best to provide you with the necessary care and attention that you need and you need to transfer your pets elsewhere for your veterinary care, just know we are doing the best that we can with the resources that we have available and we wish you and your pets the best.
Not One More Vet. Not One More Burned-Out Veterinary Professional. ❤️
