We don’t like to post this kind of news but we know how important these two animals were to the crowd that often came through to visit.
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our precious Minnie from sanctuary and the beloved Gus the pig. We believed they lived the best life we could give them at the shelter.

Good afternoon! Update on our cat General Population room, we unfortunately cannot let the public in yet because we still have infected cats/kittens. Here are some pictures of cats that are still healthy and looking for homes. Thank you for your continued patience! If interested please email [email protected] or call 401-348-2618 as some of these cats need to be seen by appointment.

We want you to be our next volunteer! Who is in 👋?! We are looking for are people who want to lend us their time for only a couple hours or more one or two or three days a week☺️. Minimum of one day a week commitment, hours are usually from 8am to 10am sometimes longer depending on the amount of work that needs to be done. Minimum age requirement is 16. It’s not all snuggles and pets, it’s work, you have the smells the icky gross stuff that comes with animals but trust me the reward at the end of each day will hopefully wanting you to come back. We will be hosting a meeting for anyone interested October 17th at 10:00am. Any questions can be sent to nkillam@westerlypolice .org. Thank you all for your continued support!
