Meet Sam, the super senior!!💖

Sammy is very very old and may look like he’s also very sad, but he is actually SUPER loving, happy, and sweet. Despite his age and the way he looks, he’s actually relatively healthy. We’re in the midst of doing some anti-biotic to treat a bacterial infection but other than that our kitty vet said the rest of his bloodwork was within normal limits. He is skinny but is gaining weight slowly as the days go on. The little guy was found nearby Prospect Hill Ave in someone’s front yard when they luckily turned him in to Ocean State to be seen. We then picked him up and have been inlove with him ever since. Sammy is chill and doesn’t really care about much. As long as he has a comfy place to lay, can freely (and slowly) roam, he is perfectly happy. This guy is going to finish his meds and retest and then is ready to go home. Please share and help Sam find his home so he can leave as soon as he’s done. Sam deserves his last days in a comfy home with lots of love. On Saturday, May 30th 2026, we had picked up a raccoon acting very strangely in the area of Lonsdale St. We had many concerned citizens who have been leaving messages asking for updates on the situation. Luckily the little fella tested negative for rabies! It’s very possible it could have been suffering from distemper, or another kind of zoonotic disease. It’s very important to keep your pets vaccinated against rabies and distemper incase more situations like this do arise. There has been an influx of positive rabies cases in RI this year already. Remember rabies & distemper are both detrimental and will KILL your pets!!! It’s not only for safety, but also a state law to have your pets up to date with rabies. Keep your pets SAFE this summer!!!🐾🐾☀️

Well, the verdict is in! Penny is actually a great leash walker… we used our test pup Autumn to test how she actually is with our dog trainer from Dynamic Dog Training & Paws From The Heart Certified Therapy program. She’s actually not reactive and she did amazing today. A+ from Sue! We love love love her. Penny your home is coming soon💕💕🐾

Last Friday, Penny was returned to us due to her pulling on leash and not being able to leash train her after 1 day of having her. Penny was not able to fully acclimate or begin to trust her new owners and was not given a chance, so we’re hoping that someone out there is willing to give her that chance to show that she is an amazing and loving pup!💕 They even said themselves she was amazing inside the house and had no issues otherwise. Our friends at Dynamic Dog Training & Paws From The Heart Certified Therapy program are always willing to help out with new owners bringing home shelter pups. We strongly recommend that new pet owners utilize their knowledge and expertise in understanding how to properly acclimate and build trust with dogs like Penny who have already been through traumatic experiences and will take some time building trust. These things don’t happen overnight. Penny has so much love to give and is such a playful, sweet girl💖💖 her kennel stress is killing her and she is ready to get out of here and find her fur-ever home ASAP!!
