🐾 HONORING THE LEGACY OF K-9 MOUSE 🐾

In recognition of the passing of K-9 Mouse, members of the West Warwick Police Department will be wearing black mourning bands on their badges throughout the week. Flags throughout the Town of West Warwick will also be flown at half-staff until midnight Friday. Town employees will be wearing Mouse t-shirts and sweathshirts this Friday, as well.

We have received countless messages from people asking how Mouse’s service to our community will be memorialized. We are currently working on several ways to honor her, including:

🐾 A memorial table in the Town Hall lobby.

🐾 A brief procession honoring Mouse as she makes her final journey with the department.

🌳 A more formal tree-planting memorial service at police headquarters this spring.

We will share additional details as plans are finalized.

We will also be offering one final run of K-9 Mouse T-shirts, with all proceeds benefiting the West Warwick Animal Shelter. Stay tuned for ordering information!

If you would like to honor Mouse’s memory in your own way, we encourage you to consider making a donation to your local animal shelter or animal rescue organization. If possible, please include “In Memory of WWPD K-9 Mouse” with your donation.

Finally, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has reached out to us. We have been truly overwhelmed by the thousands of calls, messages, and comments from people sharing their love for Mouse. For a dog whose time with us was far too short, the impact she made on this community was immeasurable.

Thank you for embracing Mouse, supporting her work, and welcoming our department on this unique journey. She brought comfort, joy, and connection to so many people, and her legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.

Rest easy, Mouse. You were loved by so many, and you will never be forgotten. 🐾💙

This lovely lady is Fiona🖤 Our newest West Warwick Animal Shelter resident. Fiona is a 9-year-old German Shepherd who has unfortunately been through the wringer these past couple months. Her owner had unfortunately passed away where she ended up in the shelter and not long after, her doggie friend also passed away. She’s lost her entire family and is looking for a fresh start. Fiona is great with all people, she is extremely loyal and listens very well. She walks very well on leash and seeks for approval from her human. Her retirement home should be ultimately only for her as she is a little bit anxious around other dogs. We think she’d thrive best with all the love to herself. This lady is SO SO sweet and her new family will be so lucky to love her. She is on the older side, but it still going strong. She enjoys either being a couch potato or going for a nice stroll with you❤️ Please share Fiona and help her get out of the shelter ASAP. No older pup deserves to spend their last years in a cage. If interested in adoption, please message us or call 401-615-3388🐾🐾🖤🥰
