They will choose how valuable praise and pets are.
They choose it all!
Reward your dog the way they want to be rewarded. They will work harder. We promise.

Have you ever wondered how a dog ends up in a shelter? Our trainers spend a lot of time working with shelter dogs in and out of rescues and shelters and we have found a few common answers:
1) Cost
2) Bad living conditions or an unexpected move
3) Training

So how can we help?
Share resources. When you find a good deal or a discount at your local pet store, share.
When you find a good trainer, share that information.
When you find a location or business that has free pet products, let your neighbor know.

Stop judging. You don't know what led this person to their hardship and it is heartbreaking to choose between your best friend and feeding your kids or having a place to live.

Donate to pet food pantries. It might not be much for you to buy 1 can of cat food or a small bag of dog food but it means so much to the person who needs that food to feed their dog tomorrow.

Volunteer at your local shelter. The more these animals get to spend time socializing the more social and happy they will become. The happiest and most social pets always get adopted first!

There is always hope and there are always ways to keep pets out of our shelters. You can help and if you need help, know that you aren't alone and you are doing the best you can! Keep your head up and give that puppy a snuggle.

What class should I take next?
Did you graduate basic manners? What class can you take now?
Leash Manners is a great next step to really focus on your dogs walking skills. A 4 week specialty class where we focus exclusively on walking nicely.
Advanced Manners is our other recommendation. A 6 week course to continue your basic skills and hopefully earn a CGC title! *pst... That means you get a ribbon.*

How do I know what class I should take?
Great question!
Let's start by looking at the age of your dog. If they are under 6 months, let's start with Puppy Kindergarten. If they are over 6 months, well we have a lot of options.
Basic manners for dogs that are just starting their learning journey or need some skill polishing.
Advanced manners for dogs that know their basics and are ready to start showing off.
Leash manners for those dog and handler duos that want to go on leisurely walks this Summer.

Is it time for you to choose a new dog for you and your family? We recommend doing some breed research before you bring home your new friend. The breed of a dog does not guarantee temperment but it can tell you more about the instincts of that dog and how it will effect your household.
