We have been told about a couple cases of Kennel Cough that have popped up over the last week or so - which is very common for this time of the year. Keeping an eye out for symptoms is very important, but it can also be tricky to spot if you aren't familiar with it.

Getting your dog the Bordetella vaccine is very helpful in preventing Kennel Cough (and it is required if your dog comes here for daycare and/or boarding), but just like people can get the flu after they've had the flu vaccine, dogs are still able to catch Kennel Cough after being vaccinated. However, vaccinated dogs typically will not be as sick as those who are not vaccinated.

If your dog is visiting us and we notice signs of possible Kennel Cough (especially if they are coughing/hacking), we WILL call you to come and pick up your dog (we will keep any dog who is showing signs of Kennel Cough separated until they can be picked up). There may be times when the coughing/hacking ISN'T related to Kennel Cough, but we believe in the "better safe than sorry" motto. Kennel Cough is VERY contagious and we want to keep everyone healthy. We LOVE seeing all of our furry friends at the spa, but we love to see them MORE when they are feeling their best 🥰

We appreciate everyone's efforts to keep all of our furry friends happy and healthy!
