A House Full of First Steps
Some places are more than a house. They become part of who you are, holding pieces of your heart, memories, and chapters of your life.
This house is one of those places for me. I love the quiet here—the wind through the trees, chickens clucking, goats calling, and dogs barking at absolutely nothing. It’s a beautiful kind of noise, the soundtrack of our life.
So many dreams began within these walls and across this land.
We started OFP Farms in our kitchen, never imagining what it would become. We raised goats with more knowledge from books than experience, learning as we went. We planted gardens, watched things grow, and discovered the joy of having enough to share.
We built a successful online business from this little place in the mountains. What began with our own two hands, hard work, and faith eventually reached homes across the country. Somewhere along the way, this house became much more than where we lived.
It became a place to celebrate—parties, weddings, holidays, family gatherings, laughter around the table, and conversations that lasted into the evening. Friends became family, and ordinary days became extraordinary memories.
There were hard days, too—days of worry, exhaustion, uncertainty, and prayers asking God to show us the next step. And somehow, He always did.
When I look at this house, I see more than walls, windows, or my beautiful porch. I see the people who walked through its doors, the animals we’ve loved, the gardens we’ve planted, the business we’ve built, and the life we’ve been blessed to live.
As we think about our next chapter, I’m holding these memories close. Moving forward doesn’t mean the past meant any less. It means trusting God with what comes next.
This house is special because of the life that happened here. It was a place of beginnings, growth, gathering, and dreams taking root. And even after all these years, there are still new first steps waiting to be taken. ❤️
